Abscission bug: Unable to restore the saved game

Since today I'm no longer able to load my savegame (from last night).
Whenever I try to load any save, I get the following error:

"An internal error has occurred. Please note down the following information.
If the problem persists, post the details on the AGS Technical Forum.
(ACI version 3.5.0.27)

Error: Unable to restore the saved game.
Failed to restore the savegame component.
(#7) Views, version 0, at offset 215031.
Saved content does not match current game.
Mismatching number of Frame, View #8, Loop #0 (game: 17, save: 12)."

I have the same problem with all of my saves, which are just from yesterday evening. Re-installing the game does not help as well.
Please advise!

Hello.
Have you perhaps updated the game to a newer version recently?

AGS has a known problem that when the game changes, the saves may stop working. That's because they work as a primitive state-saves.
Although this happens not with any change, but many cause this effect. Number of frames in a view is one of those.

UPD: seeing that this is a Steam game; the case of a Steam version may be specifically annoying, as it may have automatic game updates and no way to choose an older version of the game. I may only recommend to disable automatic updates for all AGS games just in case, and don't update without a real need.

Here the answer I got from the developer:

I think that is due to an update I needed to make to get rid of a bug that stopped one of the endings... unfortunately it stopped older saved games working, I'm really sorry! As far as I can tell I have sorted all the game breaking bugs so future updates shouldn't interfere with saved games.If you start a new game it should be ok.
