Hi,

I am a newbie to graphical adventures(I have always written text adventures), I am looking for some kind person to give me the source of a game, so I can walk through it and get a feel for the games.

Cheers in advance.

Hi,

there's AGS Demo Quest, which you can find here: https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags-demo-quest

Note that looking at a bunch of code is probably not that useful to a beginner, I'd start with the tutorial in the manual, which can be found here: https://adventuregamestudio.github.io/ags-manual/StartingOff.html

AGS Demo Quest would be a horrible example, imo, with bad gfx and using deprecated script.

There's a list of open sourced AGS games gathered here:
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/adventure-related-talk-chat/a-sticky-list-with-open-source-ags-games/
This includes both adventure and non-adventure games (arcade, sims).

I suggested to make a sticky topic with the list somewhere, but to no avail...

Khris is right. Go through the tutorial first.

I remember when I first started, and that tutorial did a brilliant job at teaching me the basics.
After that though, I downloaded a whole bunch of templates and learnt from looking at the code in their basic example rooms (they usually showcased a little bit of everything). So looking at other's code can definitely be a huge help once you've gotten the absolute basics down.  (nod)
