Background Blitz - Mediterranean (OPEN - Jan 16th)

As we're coming up to the holiday season and most countries are in their colder seasons (outside Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia), I thought people would love create backgrounds dreaming up of the summertime!

Mediterranean will be the theme, it can be a Mediterranean 'feel', or location - have fun with it

Entries will be judged on the following and will close on Monday January 16th.

Concept: What is the background about? What sort of mood does it spark? What is, as it were, the big idea?
Playability: What is its opportunity for gameplay like? Walkable areas, hot-spots, and so forth?
Artistic Execution: How well does the picture convey an atmosphere? How well is it executed?

Concept: Creamy - I think Creamy's one delights me the most, and I see many things associated with the Mediterranean, like the small red Fiat

. I would really love to adventure around in this sort of scene. Lovely!
Playability: newwaveburritos - I almost feel like all three backgrounds are quite balanced when it comes to playability. I think newwaveburritos' one is just a bit more.
Artistic Execution: Creamy - I had to give it to Creamy, since the image feels so inviting to me. The color scheme really speaks to me (in the dead of winter

) and there's a warmth to it. It's a bit similar to background art in the Runaway series.

Concept: newwaveburritos. These lavish parties near Monaco could provide an interesting canvas.
Playability: newwaveburritos. Both pictures are perfectly playable. Let's just say that his picture has more points of interest, notwithstanding the UFO.
Artistic Execution: Hannah_Banana. It's a bit like comparing oranges and apples, but I think her picture is easier on the eye.

Concept: newwaveburritos I can see some fun story potential in this backdrop! Could see it used in a spy hand where you're undercover at a rich oil tycoon's dinner party or a murder mystery.

Playability:newwaveburritos hard to choose this one, but slightly more new wave's as can see plenty of objects on the table to interact with, clear areas to walk on the patio.

Artistic Execution: creamy love the style in your one. Definitely somewhere I'd love to be. Nice use of colour and plenty in the scene of interest.

If you need inspiration for a new topic or would like to know what has already been one, have a look at the Competition Topics Master List!
(It doesn't hurt to promote it from time to time, even if you don't need it.
