Hi. My name is Ben. And I put the number 304 after my name so that I can be distinguished from everyone else called Ben that don't think the number 304 is so special.

I got into adventure games fairly late. I have been playing computer games since I had a computer first (yay for black and white and no sound) but one day I came across the demo for Beavis & Butthead in Virtual Stupidity and I loved it. That was my first adventure game, and a while later I discovered The Curse of Monkey Island and was HOOKED big time. After playing monkey Island 1 2 & 4, Sam n Max, Beneath a steel sky & grim fandango, along with a couple of others I can't remember I went online to see if there was anything else to get. The first game I found was Rob Blanc 1 and after finishing it, I went and got the other rob blanc's, Permanent daylight, larry vales and earwig is angry. After noticing how these were all similar I knew I HAD to make a game. However, it was not until whilst downloading the apprentice after reading about it in a magazine that I noticed this ags thingy, so I checked it out and here I am. I have made one game so far and am working on about 7 others at the moment, 7 of which will probably never be completed. Basically I love computer games and especially adventure games because I can make them, and that's just as wicked as playing them. See you around the forums,

Ben (304)

Hello,
I am 13 and I just joined. Don't worry about me acting immature-I've been playing the computer for like... 5 years, and I've played adventure games since I've started. I don't think age means your mature, I've seen 16 year old's that act like they're two. Anyway, I play Docking Station a lot (an A-life game) and I've been trying to learn it's programming language, CAOS, so I can make my own metaroom (that is, an add-on for that game). Well, it seemed pretty easy, so I thought I might as well try learning another scripting language too. I had some ideas for new Adventure Games, and I thought I might want to make them (I'd have to learn how to script first) so I decided to download AGS.

Jerry

Hi, I just registered to the forum. I am 13 and I live in La Ronge.  I have just recently won the first round of the CanWest CanSpell at my school. I can't believe I did it! Me, Jerry (Other Jerry), and Shandi advanced to Round Two, and it's being held in Saskatoon! If I win that round, which I probably won't, I will be going to Ottawa then Washington, D.C. If I win the Ottawa round. All my classmates are supporting me, and I hope you will too, it will boost my confidence in winning. Well enough about that. I have recently downloaded a copy of AGS, and I am totally new to this. I couldn't understand it even if I was really smart. I am using programs that help me just a tiny bit, but I still can't understand it. If you guys could help me, I will thank you a million times. Also, I'm taking guitar and piano lessons.

Piano - Third Year (Still on 'Technics Intro')

Guitar - Just started. Although I still don't know how to do a C-chord, which is of the highest priority in learning guitar.

Im interested in Metallica and their music. Thank you for reading my rant.

I realise I've not done this yet. Sorry.

My name is Paul, I live in Glasgow, Scotland.

Despite what it looks like from some of my posts, I never really take myself very seriously. Though you'd be hard pressed to get any of it from me in real life, sometimes when I'm writing, I like to let my mind wander and see where I end up. Don't worry, I'm well aware that I spout a lot of pish from time to time. Best course of action is to just smile and nod. I'll go away eventually. ;)

I'm working on a game, which is going a little slowly while I finish up some other projects, but should hopefully pick up soon.

I really like the AGS boards. You guys have a really good sense of community and by definition you are all creative people. It's very cool here.

Hi,  have just found out AGS and thought I would introduce myself.  My name is Anthony and I am from Wales, Uk.  I am 28 and have loved the lucasarts and sierra games since they appeared on the Amiga and them machines.

My first point and click game I played was Monkey Island and I was hooked from then on and tracked down other games like Lure, Indiana Jones games and the like.  I have only just downloaded the AGS and am going to have a play with the program so I can get a feel for the program.

Just thought I introduce myself on here.

Hi there. I've been experimenting with AGS on and off for the last couple of years, and I visit these forums quite often but I've never actually gotten around to signing up until today.

So... Hello. I guess.

My name is Nikki. I'm 24, I live in Canberra, Australia, and I've always been into the classic adventure games, and I guess it would be too clicheed for me to say that I've been influenced strongly by the Monkey Island series. So I won't.

Working on a game or two at the moment in my spare time, nothing too flash, just your everyday zombie braineating black comedy. I've always been very visually minded, so graphics and an overall 'look' are something I spend a lot of time on in my assorted projects. I'm also a novelist when I can find the time and the inspiration, so plot has never been much of a problem.

Alright. That's enough rambling. Pleased to be acquainted with y'all, finally.

Sounds awesome!!

Welcome to the forums frankenberger.

Hello!! I'm Jess, Mr.Colossal's lady friend.
I've hung around AGS for a while but never actually posted much on the forums because...um, I'm a jerk?
I helped Eric(mr.colossal)( jeez it's weird calling him that)(outside of the bedroom, ZING!) host Mittens 2 years ago and I got to know quite a few of the AGSers.
I love Adventure games and all kind of video games, my favorote is probably Grim Fandango.

I'm an illustrator and comic book artist, this is my site:

Howdo..
My name is Lou, I am out of seattle.  I have been making adventure games since the mid 80s.  I wrote my first AG engine in BASIC when I was around 12 years old, and made several games in it.

Later, I picked up SCI and started remaking one of my original games, "The Legend of the Lost Jewel" and its getting near completion.  Once I finish it, I will probably port it to AGS and start over from there.  I am glad to see that there are so many adventure gamers out there still.

For a living, I design computational clusters that crunch bio data to build DNA on microchips, I have a side business that I started just to earn extra money making costumes (see my post in images of yourself) I have a wife and a newer 5 month old baby girl whom I am trying not to screw up!

Glad to be here.

Juangrejo

Hi to everyone.
I'm a 16 old newbie who loves playing any adventure game, specially old Sierra ones (like Space Quest or Leisure Suit Larry).
Since I knew them I love them and it was one of my dreams to make one adventure game.
3 weeks ago I searched for an adventure game maker in the google and found this, I love it!! a dream come true!!! (not a lot of people can say taht so I'm very happy now)
I'm half Spanish and half German but mostly from Spain 'cause I was born and leave there.
I have the little (or not so small) problem of writting what I wanna say in English and understanding English technical words, but I'm trying and love the help and kindness that I have received by other more experienced AGS users.
In my free time I love to hear a lot of music, paint and learn about AGS. Also I play (or learn to do it) the piano, drums and trying bass guitar. I love to compose music, I have a lot of self- midis and some audio records played with some local bands.
I would love to help anyone by doing some music for any game!!! (if anyone want my help of course).
I think that's all.
This is an amazing experience to talk to all to you, people from the world, users of AGS. :D
I thing the moderators and the users have managed a great comunity full of kind people. :)

Please, feel free to e-mail my if you want, I love it.

I hope it's not too boring... :P

Hello everybody

I'm a newbie here. I'm 13 and I don't know what else I can say that is interesting reallyÃ,  :-\
So I guess I'll just say that I've recently started work on my first AGS game (called Enter the Guano) and I've got lots of ideas for it and possible games in the future. I joined the forum because I thought I might be able to get some help if I'm stuck at any point when making games, and also I hope to be able to possibly contribute to games.
Also, I like games such as Monkey Island and Broken Sword  ;D
And that's it, really... :-\

Bye

Hello,

I'm not really a newbie anymore, I've got like, a 100 posts already but I never saw this topic before EVEN if it's sticky. Well, I'm fourteen and I'm finishing grade/primary school. I like to make adventure games and play adventure games. I did some proofreading but nothing special...

Have a nice day/night, SB

Yo, I'm SmootH. What up?

I'm new. Really new. But IRL I'm ancient.

Well, I'm Canadian. I'm a programmer/psychologist(it's what my diploma will say).  My hobbies include but are not limited to: Movies (I'm an amateur film critic, also I've worked as a gaffer, grip and script writer), photography,  Comics, I also used to write for one legit newspaper and now I work for a comedy paper, I also love beer and playing cards.

The adventure game that got me hooked was.....*gasp* LOOM! *double gasp* I played it when it first came out. I actually still have the original floppy verison of it. I purchased it on CD when Lucas released it. My favourite games are either absurd like Sam and Max/ Day of the tentacle or cinematic (puzzles are just a way to advance the story) like Leisure suit larry/Full throttle/Grim Fandango.

I'm writing my own game right now. It's going to be short and stupid but I'm using it as an experiment to learn the software. Also, my drawing skillz are not good at all. Imagine a 7' tall dinosaur who wants to be a cowboy. yeah in that vein.

Concepts and script writing is what interst me the most of this but I'll try everything out.
There is nothing, NOTHING ointment can't cure!

MadArt

hi all,
i've been lurking around here for quite some time, but being a man of few words i never felt the need to de-lurk so to speak lol,
anyway i'm helping woodz with his games and hopefully we'll have something interesting for you soon
i'm also his rat catcher, sweeper upper but the pays terrible!

Stefan Z

Hi!

The name's Chris, and in lack of a good screen name, it's gonna be Stefan Z.
After downloading AGS four years ago, I've finally started on a game. I'll be posting some of my stuff to the critics lounge later.

I'm pretty good at writing music, but bad with walking loops. I thought I made nice backgrounds, but after seeing some of the stuff here, I swallowed my tongue  ;)

I'm 24 years old, living in the Netherlands, I play guitar in a band, I study Communications and ... well, that should be enough information.

Good gamemaking everyone!
Chris.
