QuoteFederico Fellini's Satyricon?

You've got it!!!  :-D

Quote(by the way Matagot, are you italian?)

I'm British  ;)
I'm a fan of Fellini's filmography. Satyricon being my favourite. I can't speak Italian, but I love the film enough to even watch it without subtitles  8-)

Time to add more clues!  8-)

It's Italian.
It is based on an Ancient Roman book.

Neither.

The film is more Caligula than Clash of the Titans.

Nowhere near as graphic and controversial as Caligula (certainly not hardcore like Caligula's 'extended' version!), but still quite daring for it's time.

Nope. The genre is slightly similar but much more surreal.

This game is looking outstanding! I'll be keeping any eye on your progress.
It's reminding me a little like Dark Seed, but I think that game was also based on Lovecraft.

Keep going!  :) :) :) :) :) :)

Very possible, there is a game like that in the works, I can't find the thread right now though.

Basically, all level info is stored in a grid, and the first person-view is generated by iterating through that grid from far to near, drawing pre-made walls.
I'd say the scripting involved is semi-complex. You'll need AI that moves monsters around and some short of shop system, I guess.

It all comes down to organizing a buttload of data well enough to not pull your hairs out continuously during coding :)

(In general, there's pretty much no limit as to what type of game can be created with AGS, except speed.)

Brilliant! Please let me know via PM of any related threads or advice/codes/grid info on how to make such an RPG.

;D

How possible or difficult is it to design retro first person view style RPGs such as Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master, Wax Works, Black Crypt, etc with AGS where you click on arrows to guide your party of characters through mazes and fight wandering monsters?

Hello everyone!

I'm from the UK and a very very keen adventure gamer  ;D

Like most of you guys, I'm heavily influenced from the golden age of the adventure game, especially Amiga games.

My favourite adventure point 'n' click game I've played in the past are as follows:

Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2
Cruise for a Corpse
Operation Stealth
Lure of the Temptress
Beneath a Steel Sky
Hook
Simon the Sorcerer
Maniac Mansion
Curse of Enchantia
Legend of Kyrandia

So many games! So many great family memories as we always used to gather in the living room to play and solve them.  8) 8) 8)

AGS.... where have you been all my life? I've only just discovered you a few weeks ago!  ;D ;D ;D

Well, I'm off to achieve my dream of makin' a game  ;)
