Hugo?

That's right, Martin Scorsese's first English film, 2011's "Hugo".   

It's up to you, Jay but I'd suggest you take it away if no one else gets it by end of day.

I'll also give some additional clues based on the earlier guesses.

The white in the first image is snow.

The movie could be considered old (though any film that I remember being released never seems old to me).

As Jay says "it is a good film" but it came out around the same time as several similar seeming films that weren't so good and I think this one is largely forgotten as a result.  This is the director's first English language film and he's since gone on to much greater success.

Neither of those though  I did rewatch "Strange Brew" recently on Canada Day.

Always tough to identify an unseen film but especially hard when you've never even heard of it.  It did sound like an interesting one.
