The "Superman is a horrible concept to write for" idea.
The idea that a protagonist that is morally upright and invincible can't have good stories. To me, that just smells of excuses for not being skilled at writing, and I thought pop-culture as a whole had moved beyond that argument, but I saw it recommended to me as a video again recently.

Haha those harmonies at 2:09 aren't bad. Any other tracks by them you'd recommend?
The song I shared is by Ata Kak, you can get the "remastered" album here: https://atakak.bandcamp.com/
As for Awesome Tapes from Africa, there's a lot of stuff, but it isn't restricted to Ghana or Highlife music. Depending on what you're in the mood for, you'll probably find something to your liking.

The 90s WERE rad!

I think I was introduced to "Awesome Tapes from Africa" through Inkoddi here on the forums years ago, but found this song later. Almost everyone I share it with has a negative first reaction to it, but I think it's bangin'!  :=

It was my understanding that throw pillows go on beds, while cushions go on sofas.

I am rather convinced that it is simply a legislative gap. The manufacturers of those wretched things must have found it, and decided to make the most of it, while it lasts. It is terribly stupid, and I would delight in kicking them over if I found any. I dare say hardly anyone can see micro-waves, so why, I ask you, lawyer from Racket-o-Matic Ltd., why cannot I use them to discourage burglars?

My own gear-grinding annecdote, meanwhile, is similar if opposite.

Now, a while ago, I was at a burial. It was quite alright, truly, gently reassuring as they are meant to be. However, I noticed that as it was time to toll the bells, they sounded rather tinny and muffled. It emerged that it was not the bells at all, but a recording, fed through the PA speakers. It was very vexing.
It emerged, however, that the church had been the recipient of quite a few noise complaints, on account of the bells. The bells! And they were thus rather limited as to when they could ring them. I am not particularly difficult about noise, ordinarily. Life is inescapably noisy, and it is reasonable to long for some peace and quiet. But this made me quite wild to hear.
Who are these utter dimplecups, I wonder, that move into a nice (and up-market, lest we forget) house right next to a church when they cannot abide the sound of bells? It is not as if it was a difficult building to spot, crouched between a hedge and a gas holder. They cannot possibly have missed it, if they have ever been in the area before they bought the house. It is not some little secret the estate agent can keep under wraps until it is too late. It stands radiant on the landscape, and what is more, I very much doubt it is tolling day and night. I simply cannot see the disruption, or the nerve to shut up a service you have decided to live next doors to.

I wonder sometimes if the neighbours are, in fact, trolls and giants that have come down the hills and moved into town. After buying the houses, there was evidently gold left for a good lawyer...

And I shall bet that these same dimplecups would merrily install those blasted high-pitch screamers if they had half a chance, too.
I wonder what they do on Sunday mass...

Is that Italy? What happened to social distancing? Why are all those people hugging?

Yup, thanks!

Although seeing it now, I question the usefulness of any of those resources, with the last update being 14 years ago

This link on this page is broken.

A bunch of games free on itch.io: https://itch.io/games/on-sale

Any fellow AGSers? "Where the Water Tastes like Wine" and "Milkmaid of the Milky way" have been on the periphery of my radar before.

Loud typers. There's few things that get more on my nerves than some idiot hammering at their keyboard like a 3-year old banging on a toy laptop. I hope there's a special place in hell for them where they will go no matter what else they did in life.
The funniest I've noticed (with multiple people, so I suspect it is a thing) is Enter-slammers. Their typing is going all normally, and then suddenly...WHAM!
tptptptptptptptpptptptpptptp...WHAM!

Why slam enter? :D

As for what grinds my gears, because I just saw it in "Lost in Space" (a show someone recommended to me as great), is scientist people, intelligent people, smart people, getting to a new planet or new piece of rock in space, and then immediately (or in the first few moments possible), taking off their helmets, and having one guy be all "Oh no, why did you do that!", and the reply being "Oh, the air is safe!".

Very often, even in the same episode, everyone later comes down with a "mysterious" illness, and they're all stupefied as to how that could have happened, and yet they do it again in a later episode.

I am sad that a game would be dismissed due to being old. Old games need love too! More so than new games!

(my disappointment is very trivial, and I'm half joking, don't make much of it  := ).

Instead, I'll go for a game that has been nominated before, over 10 years ago, and deserves way more love :D : The Winter Rose
The download link doesn't work though.
What? Sure it does!  :=

Otherwise, since it's pride month, how about a game with a queer protagonist?
I thought about nominating Femspray, which while it doesn't have a queer protagonist (except for in one bit), it was a fun, lighthearted but non-derogatory take on the subject. But then I realised I had written it up for pick of the month before already :D. The author made a newer game with similar themes and subject matter, but I haven't played that one, so I can't really nominate it.

I remember there was a word limit for how long the blurb had to be, but I can't find/remember it now, so here is something I hope is long enough:

I believe this 14 year old gem is our resident BaRoN's first game, so you might feel it has a few rough edges, but it is well worth playing. It has great writing, pretty artwork, all building up to create the cold wintery atmosphere that leads you to a genuine sense of going on an adventure in this adventure game- like the Sierra games of old, but without the frustrating and insane puzzles.

Full Throttle Remastered is pay-what-you-want in this bundle. Not free but $1 ain't bad.
Technically 1 cent if you want to be cheap.

I think you may still download the source project from github:

if you click on green "Clone or download" button and choose Download ZIP.
Yes, that is what I did, I just figured I'd try to get the template as an agt file.
