I've been tending towards the Georgia font these days - quite similar to TNR but a bit bolder and wider. For fairy tales you may also want to try Budoken SF - it's got a little more character and somehow a more child-friendly appearance, without being too outlandish.
For a one-page story I would definitely advise against doing it in 2 columns.
Anyway, just my personal view!

I know. The link itself is dead on the author's website. In fact, I clicked on the link and the site itself doesn't seem to work. Someone should host that great game for safekeeping.
I don't think it's the link so much, his whole website is failing to respond atm. May be a temporary glitch?
