*bump*
That hurts!

Isolated from your unit after a landing mishap, you must jerry-rig your way to find out what lies at the bottom of the shaft.

Modern adventure games often neglect inventory puzzles. Not Kastchey's winning entry for last July MAGS competition. Plus, it's all wrapped up in glorious pixel art. Time to party like it's 1989!

Hi Snarky,

Great module you have here.
It's easy to set up and works like a charm...except for one room where my game crashes:

QuoteError: ScriptOverlay::Remove: overlay is not there

EDIT: nevermind, I've figured it out. If you change room before the bubble has disappeared, the game will crash as soon as you call Saybubble in the next room.

Defender of the Crown :)
I haven't actually played the game but I read a good article about it on The Digital Antiquarian.

QuoteMaybe going with a theme like most of the other competitions would be better than a specific game.

A game picked by an host may not appeal to everyone.
I'd rather let the participants choose their game according to a theme.

As entertaining as ever. I would have liked to hear about some good games from the last Adventure Jam though since Grundislav was a judge*. The only ones that you mention are your own creations or some well-known AAA titles.

*Just to clarify, I didn't take part.

Good Luck on finishing Unavowed and Lamplight City.

QuoteI pretty much agree with everything Mandle (and hobo) just said about why increasing the time limit won't make any difference to the number of participants, and could even have a detrimental effect.
Me too.
I'm not so adamant about the frequency of the competitions though. One MAGS competition every 2 months could be enough.

QuoteThe challenge of creating all assets from scratch can be tough if you lack skill in either backgrounds or animation.
I also find it hard to make a consistent game with satisfying visuals on my own in one month. It promotes teamwork but can deter some people from entering.

QuoteAllow RON or other freely available assets

Would it be possible to allow the use of assets produced during other contests too? Background Blitz, Sprite contest...

That's great news Dave! ;-D

I'll get right on it after Neofeud... and Unexpected at the rising star... and Kanji Gakusei... and the House without Windows... and Gnome's Homebrewing Adventure... and Conspiracy: Below-Zero... and Legend of Hand...
