I have no musical talent myself but would like to try my hand at creating my own. Can anyone recommend a free downloadable music making software for dummies- ive looked at some of them and they seem extremely complicated. So im wondering if theres a nice simple one out there designed with us novices in mind?

The simplest one I've ever found is BoscaCeoil, which you can find here: http://www.boscaceoil.net/
Unfortunately, you still need to have some basic knowledge in making music. But I suspect it would be a good start for anyone wanting to learn the basics.
By the way, I have no musical talent as well. So if you find a good easy way to learn how to make music yourself, please share.

I'll lets slide that you didn't specify "original" or "remake" as, let's face it: The original is the only true DotD, although the remake is pretty good (but just an action-flick at heart).

Obviously it's the original. Just look at the film quality. It's clearly recorded with an old camera.
And you can't blame us for taking so long. You said so yourself, that it was the one shot that didn't instantly give away the film.

Good luck with the game you have planned. Although may I suggest that start with something a lot smaller and easier. You generally want to improve your skills and understanding of the engine, before you take on a big project.

I recognized it, mostly due to the asthetics, rather than the GUI. Also, the 399 years thing kinda helped.
