I remember there was a group of people having a party or something and they started shooting artillery (or some odd weapons) at the trees and I was completely confused about it.

I'll be damned if I can remember what movie it was though.

I knew I recognized it and I like the misdirection from the second shot (thinking it's a girl). The third shot was too memorable for me 'cause I imagined myself having to roll my own son up in a carpet under such circumstances... damn near made me vomit.

That was an emotionally draining movie. I don't know if I have the endurance to ever watch it again.

It is indeed! Loved that movie when I was a kid. From the greatest year of movies in  Hollywood history, 1985.

For the record I tracked it down by searching for "Kathy Bates and Allan Rickman" (didn't realize it was Dustin Hoffman instead of Rickman)and eventually tracked it down. I had never even heard of this movie.

On to the next one which is, I think, pretty simple...
