Maybe add a toggle key, so that the label is always shown when the toggle is on, no matter whether you are moving an object or the currently active object is stationary?
This way, you can toggle it off so that the label is never shown, as sometimes people may not want to see it for some reasons.

May be try to run it in an emulator?

If you make an updated version, just call it Super Author Simulator 2024 and pretend that it's a new game.
Everyone does that. Every sport game series does that.

Yeah, eric0o's awesome stuff count, so they can be list here if you like.
Though it's more about mundane things like those small experiments I made above (which eric0o also had done a fair number of), less about complete games, but there is no restriction on this.

I think there was a thread on this, but I was not able to find it, so I start over.

There are people who make games of genres other than adventure games, but AGS is also a great tool for trying out ideas.

It has a simple IDE and could easily get something running without doing a lot of setups or messing with dependencies (especially graphics related, even though AGS is not particularly strong here). It is good for experimenting and making prototypes of stuff, or, say, draw stuff easily from equations (while it's not mentioned, but yeah, all the images were generated by AGS).

Recently I came across a nice small BASIC demo after talking with some people and I think it would be a great idea to port it over to AGS.

So, here it is. I made it with some old AGS V3.5 installed in my computer so any version of AGS recent enough should be able to open and compile this. It's just a direct translation from the original BASIC code (everything is in ROOM1's script) and it runs at ~11 FPS here (oddly the performance is more or less the same when I tested it on two vastly different systems, like there is some bottleneck with AGS script).

Anyway, here is a screenshot:

(The screenshot is actually flipped incorrectly, which was fixed in the above download, but I am too lazy to update the screenshot.)

Anyone who have random non-adventure game stuff made with AGS to show can continue in this thread.

Can you link to your avatar's image file in a post for us to see?
It is possible that since the recent update of the forum software, some settings were changed, that there is now a strict limit on the dimensions of an avatar image.
I just checked, a lot of members have avatar images in dimensions of around 120 x 120 pixels (and mine is just 60 x 60 pixels), but a few ones even use a 1024 x 1024 pixel image as their avatars.
My guess is that this is okay as long as the images were set before the limitations are imposed, but once you modify your profile (e.g. changing the signature like you did) the forum software would check again whether everything is within limitation, and so your avatar image is no longer accepted.
You may try to use an image of smaller dimensions and see whether it works.

And for removing your post, I think only a moderator can do that, so if you want to remove your own posts, just PM a moderator and ask them to do that.

Actually clicking it copies the link to the clipboard, and there is no visual cue to it, so it seems to be "doing nothing".
You can press Ctrl-V to paste the link afterwards.

Quote from: AndreasBlack on Thu 07/09/2023 12:45:34Where you want to move one layer, but for unknown reason it just jumps down in the layer list randomly to another layer that is not selected and starts moving that layer instead of the one you've selected at first.
This happens to me a lot in Gimp. The reason is when using the mouse to move a layer, by default it'll pick the first layer that has an opaque pixel where you click, not the active layer. There is an option for the Move tool to change this behaviour to move the active instead (and I just checked, in Gimp you can also press and hold Shift to temporarily toggle to the other behaviour), so I think PS should have a similar setting.

Since this thread has accomplished its purpose, even though the worst outcome turned up, maybe we can lock this now and continue in the new thread?

Contrary to everybodies' believe, I find Musk extremely clever troll.

Try to read the following sentence:
"Twitter is now Xeeter."
It has multiple meaning and implications, considering that we may use "Xeeter" as both a noun or a verb.

Also, not only him. YOU also use the thing yourselves. So, you frequently Xeet (or ReXeet) yourselves.

The only way out of this Xeet embarrassment is to stop Xeeting using it yourselves.

He still is. He's a genius of Xeets/sheets/Shi.../Seats.

Seems like the X is supposed to be spelled and pronounced 'Sh'.
VERY fitting name.

In movies such as Home Alone 2, Donald Tru... wait...

Godzilla, maybe?

The AGS thing is a big hoax.
It's wonderful that Ponch never realised this.

Serious though. People did appear and disappear all the time in online communities, but Slasher's case is a bit worrisome, considering his activeness in pumping out games and his age (especially after bad news of certain forum members in the past few years). Hope he's okay.

1. Maybe put some animals on the left? Like cows or sheep. Place them at a distance so that they can be small blobs and not very detailed and not too crowded or distracting. Something like LoomTM. (Alright, I did not mean to have green sheep, but you get the idea.) Putting some distance mountains/hills on the horizon may also help with the composition.

Yeah. Seems they you are now forced to log in to read anything now.
In fact, shortly after Musk's acquisition, the contents became readily available again for a few months (i.e. without the need of using the trick mentioned above).
Since it's intentional to block non-user from reading stuff, I interpreted it as Musk f***ing up the company so hard that it's no longer working (probably because of the massive layoff that there were no longer any people to maintain it anymore), so it's just returning to its "working state" now.  :undecided:

I was actually able to figure it out by looking for Q*bert variants in MOBYGAMES, but since I cheated I'll just skip this round.

Seems to be fixed, finally.

Thanks!

Now, it'd hell lotsa work for me to update the Hall of Fame (both on the forums and the Wiki) after months of inactivity.
Err... Maybe T0M0RR0W!1!!

Aw Really bad news.

RIP Phil.

I seem to have not used the LV smiley enough, but the smiling head is both appropriate and inappropriate here now, :(

Are there any news on the Wiki?

I used to update the Hall of Fame thread in the activity section, which was to be done alongside the page on the Wiki.

With the Wiki not working I haven't done the routine maintenance (like, locking old threads beside the records in Hall of Fame) on that section for a while now (I am not being lazy! I swear!).

With the Wiki not working people aren't able to update the info of this year's AGS Awards either.
