Great theme! Will have to put on my thinking cap

Great theme!

Picturing almost an 80s vibe... or even a bit of Blade Runner-esqe or Ready Player One.

I'll have to get creating!

Quote from: Matti on Wed 17/05/2023 08:45:18I would have voted for RootBound.

We have a winner then with Matti giving the deciding vote.

Congratulations @RootBound !!! Tough decision with three great entries. Over to you for the next round

We have a tie between Rootbound and Creamy!

@Matti do you want to type in your vote and you may help decide the winner of this round?
#5
Any last votes? We're currently sitting on a tie so one more vote could change this months outcome!!

Concept: creamy
Great holiday destination and environment to set a game in. Could see this help set an interesting scene in game!

Playability: newwaveburritos
Think yours is slightly more playable with places to explore in game, but tough choice.

Artistic execution: newwaveburritos
Love the style and colour palette you've used. Nice work!

Only a few more days to get your vote in - closing 15th May!

Let's close it and start the vote! Agree, let's keep things moving.

Hopefully ildu and I can enter the next round!

Quote from: lorenzo on Sun 07/05/2023 17:45:52Hannah_Banana: sorry to hear about your pen troubles, never leave toddlers with anything fragile  ;).
Hope you'll manage to make something, no matter the medium used! As long as it can be posted here, it should be fine. :)

Lesson learned!!

Will do my best to get something, even if it's rough

Voting poll is now open (1week)!

Some great entries from Cat, Rootbound and Creamy to choose from. Thanks for entering!

Some great entries this round! Love the palettes newwaveburritos in your city scape. And cool Mediterranean scene creamy - can see this working well in game.

I've run into a few technical difficulties (incl a toddler breaking my Apple pen), but hoping I can get something in for the 10th even if it's on paper  not digital!

24 hours to go! 3 great entries so far!

Let me know if you're working on something and need an extension, otherwise closing for voting tomorrow

There's some great ones coming through. Nice work cat, Rootbound and creamy!

Good to see a few entries coming through - not long to go till 5 May
#14
Also planning to enter - just waiting on inspiration to strike. Good topic!

Nice one Cat! Love the casual posture you've got going on. This would make a great gif!

Tradies make the world go around

From plumbers to electricians to builders or mechanics, without trades, our world wouldn't be what it is today. This month we're spotlighting the characters who keep things running smoothly and are often hiding in the background of a scene.

So home your inner tradie, and enter this months sprite jam by Friday 5th May. Hope to see some great entries this month!

Haha very low voting round. Was a big fan of your Creamy

Will have a think and set up a new comp soon, unless you have a brilliant idea up your sleeve?

Concept: @lorenzo can see this being used in a game to set the scene for a cool storyline full of intrigue and puzzles throughout the church and catacombs underneath

Playability: @Volcan like creamy, I can see this used for a good puzzle in game

Artistic execution: @newwaveburritos great atmosphere in the bar for a cut scene conversation. Cool old school comic vibe

Great entry Lorenzo! So much detail, and you're right, what more fitting than a church. Hope to see you enter more often with backgrounds like this!  😊

QuoteThis reminds me of this wonderful 90ies mockumentary where an African anthropologist leads an expedition to rural Austria.
Mockumentary? Seems pretty accurate  :P

Wise choice to draw the temple BEFORE the ceremony, Hannah. Much nicer.

I did think about the after (dark skies, rain, lightning, red dripping), but thought way too dramatic and probably above a PG rating 😂
