Excellent - will do my best to get it in by the 28th. Thanks!

I've been aiming to all month but haven't quite gotten to it. I'll try sketch something rough today but may not be finalised

Haha perfect match! And love that he's a crash dummy 😂😂😂

Somewhat in the sickness theme with Robo-nurse, ready to treat!

Hopefully see a few more entries pop up in the next few days. 23rd March is fast approaching!

Congrats rootbound, nice work! Look forward to seeing what new challenge you come up with for us!

Concept: newwaveburritos I can see some fun story potential in this backdrop! Could see it used in a spy hand where you're undercover at a rich oil tycoon's dinner party or a murder mystery.

Playability:newwaveburritos hard to choose this one, but slightly more new wave's as can see plenty of objects on the table to interact with, clear areas to walk on the patio.

Artistic Execution: creamy love the style in your one. Definitely somewhere I'd love to be. Nice use of colour and plenty in the scene of interest.

Not entirely happy with this entry (didn't quite finish), but figured something is better than nothing... my Mediterranean landscape featuring an unidentufued flying object.

Last minute, but I got there... here's my Christmas train toy ready to hop on board to help deliver gifts and joy!

Still working on one but may not finish so may have to submit a WIP. Time has gone quick over the break!

Great topic!! Going to have to do some thinking (maybe inspired by Christmas presents)... is it due Jan 15th or 5th?
#32
Haha quite the beauty sleep. I'm jealous!

Hey @Creamy - are you able to setup the next one for this? Otherwise any volunteers? Keen for sprite jam not to get lost
#34
Nice topic. Will try create something over the holidays!

Creamy, over to you for setting up the next round on this one. ☺️ Hopefully we get a few more entries

My votes for this round are:

Concept: Mattcoles - this was a tough one to choose as both had great concepts here and ability to add the 'creep' factor. Ended up choosing Matt's though as I do see so much opportunity and suspense with the swamp and how that could be used as part of your story. I did love Creamy's concept here with the UFO landing and how this would be used in game.

Playability: mattcoles - can easily see how this could be used in game with clear walkable areas, things to interact with etc.

Artistic execution: creamy - love the use of your colour, action within the scene and the smoke in cyan to build mystique.

So overall I think this means the winner this round is mattcoles by 1 vote (close call)! Over to you for the next round. Great work both of you 🥳

A bit slow replying to this one Sinitrena, but I would've said yes, looks like Snarky has removed it now though. I'm always keen to give people the opportunity to trust new techniques!

So two entries to choose from:
- Creamy (UFO)
- Mattjcoles (swamp)

Votes are now open!

As always, votes are across the below three categories with an overall winner announced, voting closes Monday 21 Nov.

Concept: What is the background about? What sort of mood does it spark? What is, as it were, the big idea?
Playability: What is its opportunity for gameplay like? Walkable areas, hot-spots, and so forth?
Artistic Execution: How well does the picture convey an atmosphere? How well is it executed?

These are looking great!

Love the alien crash Creamy, nice use of contrasting colours and texture with the smoke and ground indentations.

Mattcoles, nice playable area. I feel like some kind of swamp creatures going to come out of that lake 😂

And Snarky, so eerie. I haven't used midjourney yet, but your entry has definitely got me thinking about how it can be used. Can see this layout working great as a transition scene.

Less than a week to go till voting begins!

Sadly it looks like we've only got the one entry this month so voting feels a bit redundant. Over to you Creamy for the next one. Hopefully we get a few more entries next time!
