The Long Goodbye?

Indeed it is. One of my favorite movies in general, much less the detective genre.

Back to you, Snarky!

I only read the book. Did they move the plot into the 70s in the movie?

Looks like Dead Man to me. Even the terrible transfer matches what I remember from my DVD.

I don't think it was anamorphic though, so I might be wrong.

Not even Grundy?!?  8-0

Grundy and Ben both of course - unbelievable chemistry!

I'm just saying "no" to someone replacing Ben in this particular podcast, even temporarily. But some completely different - competing - "blue cup" podcasts would be most welcome (potentially awesome).

Gabriel Knight is on GOG.com, so it works fine without DOSbox if you get it from there.

Not sure about Gabriel Knight specifically, but GOG.com uses DOSbox to run most of its DOS-based oldies. Even for something like Duke Nukem 3D, which makes it crawl on 6 year old systems.

I want Ben304 hosting or no one at all!

I have a spare code for Puzzle Agent from a recent bundle. Anyone interested? Pretty cool game - the Grickle aspect of it in particular.

Shame. At least this way Grundislav will have more time polishing his Ben Jordan to the finish line.

Thanks for releasing it before I started begging. Great episode! Hanz & Helmut are a great addition.

There were a few things that you said that I'm outraged about of course. For example, the voodoo messages puzzles in Gabriel Knight are some of my favorites (of all time!).

As for introductions... Eye of Geltz does perhaps alienate a bit at the start, because of throwing you into that huge place. But on the other hand there's something profoundly artificial about always giving the player gradual introductions. I'm not sure it would even fit with Eye of Geltz's game world structure to do it this way.

Not Blade Runner! It's Blade Runner: Final Cut. The difference is noticeable in the number of lights reflected by the eye.

Another great episode. And one that makes me want to immediately discuss everything.

For example I feel Yahtzee's popular use-key-on-door metaphor for adventure game puzzles doesn't really say anything about them. It's too general and feels grumpy (not another locked door posing as something else!). But it actually perfectly describes any single-step problem solving. Untangling the Gordian knot or finding a missing sock doesn't have to be any less use-key-on-door.

I don't remember the shower ever working for me (in terms of ideas). And music gets me too high.

I usually get the best concepts while jogging.

Thanks for the Cleese link, anian!

Thanks for the info. Shame about the resolutions as I've been meaning to focus on much higher resolutions in the future. Then again, maybe there will be already a new gen of iOS hardware before I'm ready to release.

I've listened to all 4 - incredibly entertaining! In fact you one can feel you have so much fun doing these (especially those silly bits - Dr Morales's ghost etc.), that it's impossible not to get infected with some of that enthusiasm.

Are all AGS games resolutions supported and working at decent speed? I wonder how would Snakes of Avalon work.

That's a Bingo!

And no, I haven't. But thanks very much for the recommendation! You can never have too much of stylish animated films.
