Simple (?) math question:

How to implement rolling motion in a game? Can any math geniuses give me simple code?

x = ...?
y = ...?

quick sketch

Of course, the rolling should be uniform, like tracking a point on rolling ball, and not my lousy freehand drawing.
Whoever explains this so I could use it, gets credited in new, awesome game coming out next week or so!  :)

What is that square noise barcode-like thing I see appearing everywhere lately, like next to app adverts and event posters etc?

I imagine it's some sort of cypher which phone cameras or scanners could read and gather info from.

But how it's called and how it works, exactly?

Does anyone know a good free collaborative tool?
Browser based, something like google docs, but so you can quickly drop files there or sketch or make flowcharts and share with project members?

I fail to see any importance of this... is it school work of some kind?

No that's not it. I want to

turn leaf into batch of leaves, which means basically, spray same leaf around while it changes a bit of brightness, has random rotation and size

Can you define custom brush in photoshop so it's texture is still intact?
I want use photograph of tree leaf and scatter & rotate it around like any custom brush, but I want it's texture to stay intact instead of being replaced with single color.

Accepted! Thanks.

What was that comedy movie named where bunch of people didn't get into good college so they started their own?

Since same question was horribly derailed with irrelevant notions last time, but I'm still wondering, I ask again:

setting:

let's assume that you're... God. Or Neo, and world is fully implemented Matrix... or whatever.
Anyway, it is important that you see everything, you hear everything.
And you can "zoom in" to any scale in the universe. For example, to flea level and see flea in "full size" and hear every sound it makes, etc.

Well, and you can zoom in to atomic level. See atoms close up, how they act etc.

case:

A brick wall stands in the wind. You zoom in to atomic level. You can actually see air molecules impact with the ones of materials bricks are made.

questions:

* How would it look? Would it be equivalent to sky raining asteroids, with "explosions" everywhere, some of the air molecules binding with ones of whatever-brick-clay-consists-of, atoms flying apart from impact, etc?

Logic - slight wind for us is a hurricane to an ant. How about an atom?

* Would you see surface of brick decaying endlessy all the time and simply the super minor scale of this happening causes bricks to last... seemingly forever for us? Or are things much more stable even in so microscopic world?

* How would it sound? I believe there is no sound where is no friction, and everything around us makes noise, even though we don't hear even fragment of it... But atoms are all about friction and impacts... imaging you "zoom" so close, would there be hell of a "noise" with billions of impacts happening every second? Or is there some physics law that kills sound at some point?
Well, sound is movement of air, right... Would wind blowing against brick wall cause enough force to actually make airwaves?

...again, it doesn't matter at all who or what observer is. Might aswell be a super microscope & microphone from year 3605 AD. No humanly limits!

Here's one:

I've been wondering how would world look like if I was microscopic. A bit larger than a molecule, maybe.
My theory is that from this standpoint, friction and chemistry should look quite dramatic. For example, placing hand on a table would cause thousands of skin cells and wood/varnish pieces to scatter, loads of water and oil in skin is pushed through the cells, atoms in skin start reacting with atoms in table, etc. Like that episode in South Park with fleas where even head washing looked like tsunami.

And it's all just too microscopic to actually see table or skin damage/wear or feel any actual chemical reaction.

Is that plausible, or are materials actually much more stable than I think and nothing of sort would happen?

@grim: Not a lot to go on - if you remember the melody, perhaps you could record yourself playing or humming it? Not sure it would help, but it might be good for a laugh :)

You can also do it online and maybe get instant results

You have no idea how many results "windows 7 unidentified network" yields in a Google search.

Are you talking about case where randomly after rebooting internet is down, connection list shows unidentified network and the devil's in a stupid service with strange name (Bonjour DNS Responder if I recall correctly) that Abobe (may you burn in hell) installs so disabling it fixes the problem?

@OneDollar

I doubt problem lies in power supply -- sounds either driver or overheating problem. Well, heating CAN come from PSU issues, but it's still somewhat unlikely.

I'd try first to downgrade drivers to last version released while this card was "hot".
It worked well with my GF5700LE when Portal and Medal of Honor had all kinds of glitches on screen, don't know much about ATI cards, because I never bought one.

Overheating is a plausible version too, observe temperature. Also, try all settings on lowest and see if glitch still appears. Or open case, room windows and point ordinary fan at where card is.

What I'd like to know is why every country is releasing documents on UFO's except the one country that has supposedly formed an alliance with ET's, the USA.

...Or maybe because that particular country earns billions from UFO myths through literature, games, TV-shows and movies?

I ask and answer:

Q: Does video card baking really work?
A: YES IT DOES

Stuffing your VRAM-faulty, artifact-ridden video card into baking oven at 200C for 10 minutes WILL repair it and make it work like new. (I baked my 8800GTX for 7 minutes, thinking it's all some kind of a joke/tech myth) but lo and behold, it really DID work.

Q: Does it work twice?
A: O F**K YEAH

But CJ told me off last time I wrote on his garden wall. It'll teach me to keep my distance next time... ::)

Joking of course. Although I love what you've done with your bedroom interior CJ.

That's because you were naked.  :-X

Just now the forums were down for me. It soon picked up again, but I was just wondering whether there is a back-up plan if, for some reason, the forums went down permanently?

Yes, the wall on CJ's house. We gather there and write onto it. Moderators carry bucket of water and a soap.
