The diversion about Satan, along with the inferred phrase 'get thee behind me' likely did not really allow for thinking of so lowly a being making that sound and leaving you exposed all the more when you aren't lying in bed on your back (so it cannot get behind you, and more of your body- including all of your face- is open to attack). The answer is just the humble mosquito

Not really, though according to old wives tales it is said to go after the less deviant. Although most likely it just attacks anyone and makes no discrimination by bad blood.

The satan line is tied to the famous saying "vade retro Satanas" (get thee behind me, Satan).

Basically it is something that makes a terrible sound, and somehow you are more exposed to it when it cannot get behind your back.

If not: It is in no way ironic that you would find a bad driver at a driving school.

Maybe it is ironic that one with a licence (?) managed to crash into a driving school, thus returning to it and at the same time showing that is where he belongs
