Dude was scared of everything, including people of other skin-tone or culture. Everything!

I love old Howard Philip's mythos stories, but I long ago accepted he was a racist. We could argue era and geography, but it wouldn't change the fact he once penned a poem called "On the Creation of Ni**ers".  (wtf)

Uh, anyone could answer?

It's both, really. It's about people being lost at sea, and the psychological effect it has on the titular lighthouse keeper. The album Pawn Hearts, of which APoLK is the last track, deals with similar themes (for instance, the first track, Lemmings - mistakenly believed to be creatures driven to mass suicide - , is referenced in APoLK, tying the whole album together), and if you look at Peter Hammill's lyrics as a whole, you'll see recurring themes of death, loss, and separation running throughout.

For a real mind-f*ck, I recommend the VDGG album Godbluff, which is possibly the darkest example of Prog Rock in existence!

Saw van der graaf generator in the mid 70's... Fantastic band..

You lucky, lucky b*st*rd!

Seriously, I love VDGG, and to have seen the live in their prime is something I can only dream of.

Going off-topic, kind of, for a moment, I was born in the mid 70's, and I find that I'm just not interested in music the was recorded post-millennium. I mean, I love music that was recorded in the 60s, 70s, 80's and even into the 90s (Hell, I even like some music that goes back to the 1920s!), but I seem to have a cut-off point around 2000. It's weird. Or is it? Is it some kind of mental block for music recorded by people who are younger than I am? Can I only respect music that was recorded by people older than me? I'm kinda drunk at the moment, so forgive me if this seems question seems a little...weird.

EDIT: On topic, I'm currently listening to Johnny Halliday's cover of Hey Joe, from 1967!

It's Argento's Dracula 3D, isn't it? That film was so bad!

Ooh, beat me to it!

Also, I think "bad" is too broad a term to use when discussing almost anything he made past 1987. It's all pretty bad, but there are varying degrees of badness to consider. Dracula 3D is bad, but is it as bad as The Card Player or Mother of Tears? Does that make it better or worse than Giallo? Being an Argento fan is...complicated. :-\

Spotify is throwing random songs at me at the moment, based on my listening habits. And it's a fairly terrible algorithm, if I'm being honest. It's either songs that I listen to regularly (so why recommend them?), or songs that have the most tenuous of links to what I currently jive to. Bleh!

Anyway, at the moment it's...The Four Horsemen by Aphrodite's Child.

And the dude talking to him in the first shot is...Richard Jordan? Which makes the movie...a pretty good one, if I recall. :-D

Oh... Terrorvision?

Correct! I recently bought it on Blu-ray, and it's a damn fine print for such a low-budget '80s oddity. Great cast, too!

You're on the right track with Critters. Same time period, same kinda comedy/Sci-Fi vibe.

That looks like Virginia Madsen's shoulder and Don Johnson's ear.

Your powers of body-part identification are exemplary, because I'm sure that the movie in question is The Hot Spot.

Remember early-90's Neo-Noirs? Red Rock West, The Last Seduction, Crossfire, Miami Blues, etc...a little bit sexy, a little bit violent. Good times...

Guess what, most DLC is NOT carved out.

What is this assertion based on? Perhaps if you has said "some DLC", I wouldn't be posting this, but you didn't, so I am. :)

This isn't for me but for a friend. She wants help identifying an adventure game.

Any idea of the period it's from?
