Wait, is that... Sixth Sense Investigations? I vaguely remember the main character sounding like an extra from Simon the Sorcerer.

The engine/editor plugin pages are blank at the moment.

I made these SCI fonts for my game, but since they're based on existing fonts, I wanted to release them for anyone to use.

You can get them HERE.

The ZIP file includes:

HARD CODED
font.hardcoded.0
font.hardcodedvarwidth.0
[imgzoom]http://khato.furrified.com/DWEF/Releases/Fonts/intellivisionvarwidth.GIF[/imgzoom]
The font used on the Intellivision console, both monospace and variable width. Contains the same garbage sprites as the Intellivision's GROM in indexes 0-20, just in case you're into that.

TUBBY
font.tubby.0
font.tubbyshadow.0
[imgzoom]http://khato.furrified.com/DWEF/Releases/Fonts/magicboy.GIF[/imgzoom]
The font used in Ocean's Magic Boy (and probably other Ocean games), in monospace. Includes a shadow font, again, just in case you're into that.

TOM THUMB
font.tomthumb.0
[imgzoom]http://khato.furrified.com/DWEF/Releases/Fonts/tomthumb.GIF[/imgzoom]
Tom Thumb, a tiny Monospace font.

SONIQUE
font.sonique.0
font.sonique.outline.0
[imgzoom]http://khato.furrified.com/DWEF/Releases/Fonts/sonique.PNG[/imgzoom]
The stage title font used in Sonic the Hedgehog 1. I thought it had a nice art deco look. Has it's own outline font, so use that instead of the auto-outliner. No lowercase.

OVERLOOK
font.overlook.0
font.overlook.outline.0
[imgzoom]http://khato.furrified.com/DWEF/Releases/Fonts/overlook.png[/imgzoom]
A font based off of the one used in Hotel Mario, for kicks. No lowercase.

I like doing these. I would like to expand them out to the full ascii spectrum, but Radiant would need to update Fontedit again for me to do that, and I'm not sure anyone uses SCI fonts anymore. It's all TTFs and OTFs these days, which is a shame, because nothing beats a good hand crafted bitmap font.

I tried it, too bad it won't work with my custom say functions :(

Would it be possible to have the plugin have a setting to include custom say functions? If it can detect Say, then how much of a stretch would it be to have it include other functions of the user's choice, other than Say and Display?

I didn't want to make a new thread for this, and it seems a little far fetched, but this game has been on my mind for years and I don't know what it is.

It's an RPG, first person, it might have been raycast (I remember sprites walking around Wolfenstein fashion), and you could throw herbs at people if you equipped them in your weapon slot. There were guards walking around also, but if you hit them and they collided with you, you went to a new screen which said "You spend the night in a cold, dark prison cell."

I for the life of me cannot remember what this game was, and it's driving me crazy. I never personally played it, I just watched my cousin play - he quickly traded it in for Day of the Tentacle, I believe. It's not any of the Elder Scrolls games, not Realms of Arkania, not Amulets and Armor, and not Eye of the Beholder. I just can't figure out what it was.

I wanted to ask people their opinion on soundcards and this is just the place to do it. (because making a thread would be a little wasteful)

I want to get a new soundcard for MIDI playing. HW Soundfonts are a must, and OPL3/Adlib hardware support is good, but not required. I have an AWE32, but my main PC doesn't have an ISA slot and I can't find any suitable alternative. It's just for MIDI, I don't mind not having 3D surround sound and technicolor 64bit quality (as I already have a soundcard) - but something that can do GM MIDI like an AWE32 (and maybe OPL3) but in a PCI slot on an XP Computer? Is perfect. I already have an MT-32 for some of my MIDI needs... but the rest of it needs work now. The Microsoft SW Synth is really bad and softsynths eat too much CPU and RAM.

Thanks guys :)
