Yeah, me too!

The Neofeud short story collection is out! Jailbreaking sentient robots & cosplay separates princesses from paupers.  Regulars of the "Fortnightly writing competition" may recognize some of the characters. :)

The Neofeud short story collection is only $2.99 on Lulu!

Great review of Neofeud!  "Neofeud offers 10 hours of gameplay... great for any SF or point-and-click fan."  It is in French, but thank the techno-gods for Google Translate! :)

Silver Spook Games is Live! You can check out me bantering with one of the original voice actors and a Neofeud diehard supporter,
where we talk about making cyberpunk great (or at least relevant) again, a possible "Neofeud,
the stage-play" where I do a ventriloquist act, and how to find your soulmate by hooking up with people thousands of miles away from you.

Recruitment / Re: Offer Your Services!

Hi AGSers, I've been putting this out there to the internets and figured I'd give you folks a heads up on it as well, as there are some pretty writerly folks that populate these here woods.

I'm currently looking at potentially working with a writer to turn their story into a game -- most likely a story-heavy adventure game. I've been posting my recently released adventure game, Neofeud, a lot, but here's a link for convenience: https://silverspook.itch.io/neofeud

I was the sole developer (writer, programmer, art, animation, music, etc), and I'm interested in potentially doing something similar, but collaborating with a writer.

If you already have a great story on hand with a cool setting, compelling characters, somewhat original, I'm looking at just kind of converting the existing story into a game format.  My favorite flavors are sci-fi, cyberpunk, post-apoc, and the like, but doesn't have to be that.  Investigative / mystery type stuff tends to work well for adventure games, but doesn't necessarily have to be pigeonholed there either.   Story is King, as they say.

Let me know if anyone is interested, thanks!

So here's a big devlog update on Silver Spook Games development, including news about Neofeud's commercial performance, current goings on, and branching plotlines for the future of Silver Spook Games!  (A veritable 'Garden of Forking Paths' for Neofeud afficionados. ;) )

In addition, you can learn a little about myself and my family's personal homesteading adventure to the Big Island of Hawaii, that happened simultaneously during development and release of Neofeud.

And, if you're interested in seeing more Silver Spook Games, please consider supporting Neofeud 2 on Patreon!

Hi, Shreddingskin.  Thanks for the bug reports!  Will add these to the list for the next version.

Hm... Try this?

Neofeud gets some glowing praise from this guy in his indie game highlight!

It seems like there have been problems with Youtube today for some reason...

@Blondbraid: Thanks!

@CassieBSG: Indeed, that's pretty much the effect I was going for. ;)

Well, we're now at 264 votes or so on Steam Greenlight!  Looks like there's a lot of movement on the greenlighting front too so there might be a good chance.

Anyway, here's something I'm just going to mysteriously toss out there... ;)

#173
Thanks guys for the support!  Fingers crossed here as well. :)

@alphadalekben: Thanks a bunch for looking into this YouTube coverage, man.  Whatever works for your friend. :)

Thanks guys for your support!  I like DRM-free myself if possible, also.

So the big news is, I'm planning to give away the Neofeud bonus content (soundtrack + script) free to anyone who buys Neofeud through the Itch.io store before Neofeud makes it onto Steam.

If you buy it early, you'll also get a free Neofeud Steam key when it makes it to Steam.  So you get the DRM free version AND the Steam version!  You can think of it as a pre-order of sorts. :)

In addition, Steam takes a much bigger cut of the revenue compared to Itch.io, so it'd help me out with financing Neofeud 2 if you bought through the Itch store. :)

Here's a link to it for convenience:

*Note: if you get Neofeud accidentally on the same day as Neofeud gets Greenlit or something of the sort, don't worry, I'll give a reasonable grace period.  The main thing is just encouraging folks who are interested in the game, but want to wait for it on Steam, to put the order in early.

*Note #2: Yes, I am turning the brain-cogs on a new project.  Stay tuned.  ;)
#175
Sure, if you think he'd do it, why not!  Thanks!

EDIT:

4/17 - You can also vote for Neofeud on GOG!

EDIT 2:

Question for devs who've gotten onto Steam...  If a game (i.e. Neofeud) gets Greenlit on Steam, and some folks have already bought the game elsewhere, would the developer (I) be able to give Steam keys to the folks who have already paid for the game elsewhere?  Thanks!
#176
Thanks Bavolis, Problem, and Chicky for the anecdotes and encouragement.  I guess I just kind of have been trying to figure out how the Greenlight thing works, having never used it before, and got a certain impression that you had to make it up to the top of the list to have a chance.  So it's good to know that that isn't the case necessarily. :)

At this point I'm just trying to figure out how to get a review or a Youtuber to play Neofeud (other than my own playthrough).  If anyone knows someone who might want to do such, let me know!
#177
Mostly I'm just looking at the Greenlight number required to get to the top 100, the current votes for Neofeud (1/10th of the way to top 100), and the announcement by Valve that Greenlight will be replaced by Steam Direct in Spring 2017.  Short of a major review or a Pewdiepie-grade Youtuber spotlighting Neofeud, it's tough to see how the math adds up. :/

If Neofeud doesn't make it on Steam before Greenlight ends, I will take a look at Steam Direct, which apparently could cost between $100 and $5000.  I just hope it's not at the 5k end.

Thanks for the encouragement though!

Totally forgot to add Neofeud to the AGS game database!  But I have remedied this sad state of affairs!

https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2144/

In addition, thank you all for the Greenlight votes, but it seems that Neofeud will be missing the window to get onto Steam.  Thus, I would recommend getting Neofeud either on the Itch.io site or Gamejolt.

And, if you have the cash on hand right now, I'd recommend getting it soon as there's a 25% off sale ending in about... 4 hours!  (This one is only on Gamejolt :)

#179
Thanks guys!  We're over 200, so that's good, I think!?

Oh, and if you were thinking of getting Neofeud, I recommend doing it by this Saturday, because until April 9th:

Which essentially means you get the entire soundtrack (2 1/2 hours of music) and the original screenplay, for free!

:)

In addition, if you're more of a bookworm type, Neofeud - The Original Script is now available on Lulu for four bucks. :)

Thanks for the offer, Ben!

In other news, Neofeud has just been featured on Game Jolt!
