Ah, cool. Ironically, I remember almost nothing of the movie or its murder. (Do the cops shoot some guy in the rain...? That's all I got.)

Hmmm... can't make out the writing or the ethnicity of the dude with any confidence, other than that they both look East Asian... There's a cell on the left, so this is a police station. Rotary phone seems to place it in the past (though who knows when Asian police stations completed the switch to button-press phones?), but by the picture quality the film looks newer. IMDB Top 250, so relatively well known...

A while ago I read a webcomic, and now I can't track it down.

I remember it as being in the style of The Oatmeal or SMBC. It was about Jesus (I'm pretty sure) and a bunch of his disciples. Jesus gives them instructions on doing charity for the poor (give away all your possessions, etc.), but each time the disciples report back that it has just made things worse: making ever more people destitute, undercutting local merchants and thereby wrecking the economy, and so on. In the end, Jesus gives them a commandment that's about (something along the lines of) promoting growth by supporting stable institutions and the rule of law, and investing in local entrepreneurs.

Does anyone recognize this to point me in the right direction?

I still remember the film from the first time it came up in this thread, but I didn't get around to actually watching it yet. I'm a big fan of Giraud's art, so I should definitely get on that.
