Right, but that only works if Ice is a name, which makes the rest of the statement read rather caveman-y. Like: "Tarzan need ride to party. No one offer to give Tarzan ride. Why no one help Tarzan out? Tarzan had it with this shit."

Aren't you guys discounting the straightforward possibility that he's actually talking about ice (frozen water)? In the US, it's relatively common to bring ice (which is sold in bags in supermarkets and gas stations, crushed or in ice cubes) to parties as a way to cool beverages and for refreshment. The only thing that doesn't quite make sense in this reading is the "Ice, out" bit at the end.

Edit: Missed that Mods had edited his post to say the same thing.

I think some flagellation to mortify the flesh will be sufficient.

It's a murder mystery set in a medieval abbey featuring horny monks, heretics, a beautiful mysterious girl and evil inquisitors. Sean Connery as Sherlock Holmes as a monk! There's hidden passages, a secret library, a fire, grotesque dissections and one of the hottest sex scenes of the decade. What's not to love? Fuck it, I'm gonna watch it now!

Don't know about this last one. La Dolce Vita?

Whatever gave you the idea that The Name of the Rose is an obscure movie?

Sean Connery, Christian Slater, F. Murray Abraham and Ron Perlman in a Hollywood-esque film based on a hit novel by Umberto Eco. Rather a classic, I should think.

The Book of Master Corners?

The right way to keep going would have been:

QuoteThe Box?
QuoteThe Key?

Anyways...

I can never decide whether to take Eric's veiled... hints as the answer, or accept it as him teeing it up for someone else to do the honors.

Is it...

Quote from: Eric on Mon 21/10/2013 18:52:47I'll have to seek this one out. On DVD yet?

Yeah, Carruth released it on Blu-ray/DVD and online video services back in May (it's doing a limited festival and theatrical run as well). He's moved on from only making a film pretty much single-handedly to now also distributing it himself. Compared to Primer, Upstream Color is not as cryptic and puzzle-y, though it still takes a while to figure out what's going on. It's also beautifully filmed, and more openly emotional. I really enjoyed it (though it's not quite as memorable as his first movie); some have found the long wordless stretches and strange relationship at the center of it off-putting.

As for the latest one... I don't think I know it. Maybe it's a throwback to the beginning of the thread: 1408?

Upstream Color

Yay!
It's no fun when people can't guess it. I thought for sure some of you would have seen this one. Guess not. I highly recommend it (like I mentioned earlier, it's available for purchase online) if you enjoyed Primer.

OK, final image clue. The last one was the shot used for the film poster, this one is literally depicting the title of the movie:

It might also help if I tell you that the guy in the last picture is also the director, and that he in fact wrote, directed, produced, edited, starred in, composed the music and made the special effects for both his films (both science fiction). His first film is a famously confusing cult favorite.

Hint: If you can recognize the guy, that should help you work it out. He's only been in two movies, both by the same director.

Does this help? It's a movie from this year, a science fiction film sort of in the vein of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Nope!
...
OK, let's see some faces (well, face):

Edit: No? Could it be that none of you have seen this film? It was independently distributed, but is available on iTunes and other online stores.

Let's just rule out all one-word titles ending in "-er". ;)

On the other hand, the director's debut/breakthrough movie (which I know several of you have seen) had just such a title.
