Indeed it is. Yeah, I don't like all of Jeunet's films, but his design sense is great.

It's really rare that I leave a movie theater feeling like I've had a powerful experience (last time was probably Tree of Life), but seeing Kynodontas was one of those times. In terms of leaving an impression, it's probably the best film I've seen in the last decade. (Still didn't recognize the screencaps, though.)

That guy looks kind of like Matthew Rhys, but the movie looks too old for it to actually be him.

I don't think it's that obscure for those who appreciate animation, of which I'd guess there are many on this board. Not available on Netflix, Ponch, but there's an English version available in chunks on YouTube.
