Looks like Mark Strong.

Shazam!?

(The exclamation point is part of the title, not an indication of my shocked disbelief at the possibility.)

Is that Stephen Root?

The last snap could almost be from Hail, Caesar!, but I don't think the others fit?

Gotta catch up with some of the recent picks in this thread.

This is a track and an album I keep coming back to:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyLCCJho5hk

That speech at the end is of course adapted from the famous rant in Network, written by Paddy Chayefsky. I've never been able to make up my mind whether Badu is appropriating the sentiment ("I'm a human being, damn it! My life has value!" seems to prefigure BLM) or holding it up as a dangerous example of white rage and hysteria.

Fun fact: the contemporary sense of "woke" comes from the next track off this album, "Master Teacher."

Atonement?

Nice, all of this has given me something to listen to.

"Crown Imperial Song" is pretty well known in Norway, but maybe not elsewhere? (YouTube also has a music video of it, but with poorer sound quality.)

To be totally honest, milkanannan... I still don't get it.  (laugh)
Doesn't really matter how it's worded... It still doesn't make any sense. (laugh)

Try this:
What the man weighs is his total weight, right? (Which is "100 pounds plus half his weight.")

And of course, his total weight is the same as half his weight plus half his weight (because two halves is the same as a whole):

  Weight = 0.5*Weight + 0.5*Weight

So if "100 pounds + half his weight" is the same as "half his weight + half his weight" (since they're both ways to add up his total weight), then we know that 100 pounds must be half his weight.

And if 100 pounds is half his weight, then it should be easy to see that his total weight is 200 pounds.

Very nice and soulful, that. I like it.

Only 90s kids will remember... this extremely cheesy cover of a song that was pretty cheesy to begin with:

There's something familiar about that kitchen…

It's BlueCupTools day!

Only… Are you actually publishing/announcing/pushing/whatever-it-is-you-have-to-do the episode in your podcast? (Something about an RSS feed, no?) It's not showing up in my podcast app.

Thanks for those, Laura!

YouTube shuffle just now introduced me to this track:

Yup, I'm aware ;) (I believe I was actually the one who suggested that feature originally â€" Edit: indeed), but it would not have any effect in this case, since it's not happening after a timeout, but when the user actively clicks away the dialog.

It's something that would probably be worth adding (though it couldn't be 100% the same, since I can't control what happens once the dialog is over), but only if and when this and related bugs are fixed.

 :-\

My guess is that it's to do with the Wait() logic that emulates speech blocking. There have been a number of reported bugs linked back to this part of the code (I think I've even heard something like this reported before). Crimson Wizard and the other AGS devs are currently working on extending the Wait() API so it will support the same behavior as speech blocking (e.g. block indefinitely until there's a mouse or keyboard press) without complicated workarounds.

Meanwhile, if you haven't already done so, I would strongly suggest setting and activating an invisible font, which will bypass all this logic and instead just use the built-in AGS speech blocking. There's a link to download one on the GitHub page for the module: http://www.angelfire.com/pr/pgpf/if.html

Hmm. The way it's intended to work is that you supply a new TalkTail array:

Code: ags
  String tail[] = new String[5];
  tail[0] = " OOOO";
  tail[1] = "  OOO";
  tail[2] = "   OO";
  tail[3] = "    O";
  tail[4] = null;

  SpeechBubble.TalkTail = tail;

If you set it to an array with just one entry, null, that would disable the tail completely. However, this feature is broken, because AGS doesn't actually allow you to set arrays via attributes. :~(

To address this and other limitations, I did a complete rewrite of the module a couple of years ago, to make it easier to customize the appearance (it would allow you to set the tail as an array or as a sprite), but never published it because I didn't get around to reimplementing 100% of the old functionality. There's also a longstanding issue with the module causing momentary freezes unless you supply an invisible font.

There are currently various branches and hacked versions floating around the forums. I really should clean it all up and post a new release. Which AGS engine version are you targeting?

The main US equivalent of Swish/MobilePay/Vipps is Venmo, but I don't believe it's as widespread as mobile payment is in Scandinavia.

PayPal certainly remains widely supported online (and they own Venmo).

(Yeah, that's the same Howard Shore track, dactylopus)

Janelle Monáe with a cheerful little pick-me-up that seems appropriate for the moment:

Correct.

Yeah, I went there for a conference five years ago, and spent a week seeing the country. (Took a Train to Busan and everything.) If this was filmed where I think, though…

… It was just a few minutes' walk from the conference center, the royal tombs in Seonjeongneung Park in the Gangnam district of Seoul. (Yes, they did get Psy to… err, do a keynote speech at the conference.)

Admittedly it's quite possible that there are other tombs with roughly the same features elsewhere in Korea.

Great track, dactypolus. Man, why haven't Portishead done another album since P3 (which is apparently called "Third"?)?

https://youtu.be/FEQQjYorDnQ

I've been playing Lara Croft Go here and there, and the "Maze of Spirits" soundscape made me think of Howard Shore's brilliant, brittle, crystalline soundtrack for Crash (though it's basically just two tracks repeated over and over in different arrangements).
