Well, that's because it's a "this" extender function, which has to be called on a DrawingSurface.

I'll take a look at adapting it to your needs.
#783
Like I said, drawStringWrappedOutline().
#784
SpeechBubble uses custom code to draw the outline (the function drawStringWrappedOutline()). To get this effect elsewhere in the game you would have to copy that code and draw the text yourself onto a dynamic sprite (shown as an overlay, GUI, etc.).

The AGS devs are currently working on incorporating something similar into the engine, but I'm not sure whether that covers all text or only speech.

And that's correct!

It's a pretty good slow-burn (hah!) thriller/drama, based on a story by Haruki Murakami. Several publications rated it one of the best movies of 2018 â€" I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it should appeal to fans of films like Hidden/Caché or Martha Marcy May Marlene.

On of the actors might be familiar from a popular (American) TV show...

I got a post deleted there for not having the correct opinion on something. Didn't swear, didn't attack any posters. The link I posted which had a lot of info on gamergate was quite unbiased. This is the problem. The opinion was not on the extreme left.

Snarky, you're a clown. Whoever put you in charge of anything screwed up bigtime.

You have a history of posting conspiracy theories that slander and harass individuals, and that's why the post was deleted. The link may have been fine, your "summary" was not.

And the discussion is off-topic here anyway.

We're not going to be perpetuating Gamergate here in this thread.

In general, let's get back on topic, as loosely defined as it is.

Hmmm, that was a pretty big clue. Maybe this will help?

That's the one. I went up the mountain and wanted to go up the tower too, but the price put me off and I wasn't feeling well, so I skipped it. (It turned out I was coming down with food poisoning, so maybe for the best.)

"Toilet" is set in Canada but produced by a Japanese studio (or joint-produced) I believe, so I was way off.

Ah, I thought you meant this Toilet.

Yes, it looks a bit like the CN Tower in Toronto, but it's not. It has a very similar name, though â€" only one letter (and a city name) off.

Toilet?

Nope, but you're on the right continent. (That's an Indian movie, yes?)

It looks like maybe it's one of the movies talked about in one of the Pan's Labyrinth interviews.
After some research, I think the other 2 directors in that interview were Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu.

So... Babel?

Interesting link you're drawing, so I'm sorry to say that's not correct. (There's a clue in one of the pictures that establishes a time window for when this movie came out.)

Yeah, I was in a bit of a hurry grabbing that screenshot, and it ended up darker than I intended. Sorry!
The whole scene is shot at dawn, with gradually increasing light. It's very nice.
…
WTH! I'll throw in another one from a little later:

Well, people have had a chance to get it honestly, and LF doesn't seem to want it, so I just googled the actors (whom I did at least recognize) and came up with The Friends of Eddie Coyle.

Always great when you do another episode. The post by me that you mention is here, for anyone interested. It is weird how an artist's "personality" remains recognizable despite immense improvement and different techniques, styles and points of reference.

The only Asian movie prominently featuring a potted plant I can think of is Postman Blues:
