New one. It’s easy if you know it.

It’s Sense8 I think. Great show.

[Edit] It’s definitely Sense8. I suspected it from the third picture (the intro is full of Pride imagery) and now that I’m not looking at the screen in the sunlight I can tell that the 4th image is definitely the Indian woman and her husband. No idea where the 1st picture comes from, though.

Sense8 is really worth your time if you haven’t watched it yet. It’s a rollercoaster that I feel like I have never really got off.

I came here to make the same suggestion. And I'm not even in it.

The second coming.

That is correct!

(Watch it in German with subtitles, the English dub leaves something to be desired.)
I wouldn’t have dared watching it any other way.

My favourite show of the last few years: Dark

If anyone has yet to see it, please do so now.

Google’s not helping.

Any silent era actors who never spoken on film? Most of the famous ones eventually acted in ‘talkies’ but I want to know if there is a well-known example of a silent era actor who’s voice was never recorded for film.

It’s for a Twitter joke for which the moment will have long passed by the time an answer is found:

“Who would narrate your life story?“

It’s a trick of how you parse the question. You’re fooled into reading “he weighs 100 pounds” and then thinking you have to do the maths on that number. But nope, “he weighs 100 pounds plus half his weight” <â€"â€"- that IS his weight. Now you can do the maths.

Test and trace is what they (‘they’ being the NHS and UK authorities) call the system in place for “testing” for positive cases of covid-19 and “tracing” people who they might have been in contact with. Nobody is “tracking” anybody. Yet last night #TrackandTrace was trending on Twitter because nobody stops to check that they are using the right terminology.

“Track and Trace”

NO! It’s not called Track-and-Bloody-Trace! It’s “Test and Trace”! A different thing entirely. If one more IDIOT calls it Track and Trace, unless you’ve just entered a 12-digit string into a box on the Royal Mail website, I swear I’m going to go postal.

Is throw pillow the same thing as cushion. If so, I always make use of my cushions. My sofa is on a weird gradient so a cushion helps make it flat again. Every body is different and every sofa is different so it makes sense to have something to help adjust things a little. Plus they’re invaluable when you get an impromptu hard-on.

I don't have any memory of Third Eye Blind from the nineties. I don't think I ever hear their music—or if I did, I didn't notice.

It looks like their nineties stuff never charted in Norway, and they're relatively unknown here (the band doesn't have a Norwegian Wikipedia page, for example). I only came to know their biggest hit as the intro song to the BlueCupTools podcast.

I know the song through American Pie (I checked and that film wasn't released in Norway until December 1999 so there's a chance you didn't see it in the nineties), but yeah, other than that they were not a band on my radar either.

Today I listened to a song from the same era that always comes back to me every summer.

But here's the kicker... There is currently a thunderstorm outside.

I guess we've found the answer. Unleash a deadly virus, forcing worldwide lockdowns and giving people plenty of spare time and no excuses.

6 games for April and 7 for March. Let's keep up this momentum!

I was with a mate of mine, a few years younger, walking around Ginza. We had to move several times because he kept hearing this highly-pitched noise that the rest of us couldn’t hear. I think officially they’re to deter rats but I’ve since heard that they also stop groups of teens hanging around in front of the upmarket shops.

I’ve also heard that they sometimes play a mosquito noise to stop homeless people sleeping in doorways, but I don’t know how true that is.

This TP hoarding started in Japan as a hoax. People had flashbacks of the “oil shock” of the 1970s when people also hoarded TP. And people just seem to enjoy doing whatever it is that other people are doing. But the real kicker is that most people in Japan have “washlets” built into the toilet units that wash their bums anyway. You don’t even need TP (except maybe a bit to dry it up, but you could easily use a towel if you were running low). Seriously illogical behaviour.

The toilet roll thing is absolutely ridiculous. Why specifically that? It’s an interesting phenomenon really. There’s probably some weird psychology behind it. My worry is that, if this is how people are behaving when the virus is only just starting to get going, what is it going to be like when the shit, indeed, does hit the fan?
