That was a nice Beach House performance video.  I was expecting a single song, but it was quite the intimate set.  This must be an early show for them, since all of the songs are off their first album.  I like quite a few of their songs, like The Hours and Rough Song for example, but I think my favorite Beach House track is probably this one from that same album:

I really enjoy that track from Múm.  Lovely mood and vocal.  This is probably my favorite track by that band:

As for how I came across that Maxence Cyrin cover of the Pixies, I heard it used in Dave Chappelle's Sticks & Stones on Netflix.  Lovely rendition.

So I'll try to stay with the mood a bit.  Here's a song by a defunct Atlanta band that I'm listening to at the moment:

I love this one, always makes me feel good.  So nostalgic and pretty.  It's got a bit more of a beat and groove to it than Beach House and Múm.

Edit:  I just realized I posted this one here a couple of years ago.  Still love it.

So how about some Air?  Similar mood and theme:

Lots of good tracks.

PJ Harvey is cool.  I like Down By The Water.

Crystal Castles are great.

And I finally listened to the new Tool album.  It's fantastic at being what it is, a Tool album.  Nothing particularly new or groundbreaking, just more good music from Tool.  I was disappointed at first, but it's growing on me.  I particularly like Pneuma, Descending, and 7empest.

I just finished listening to this:

And now I'm listening to this:

To each their own.  I find Ferrel funny in a lot of things, but it can be a bit much at times.  As for Adam Sandler, Billy Madison is one of my all time favorite movies but I don't care much for anything post-Wedding Singer.

Napoleon Dynamite (or "Nappy D" as my friends call it) is a fantastic movie.  I can understand how some people don't like it.  I found it to be hilarious, and somewhat reminiscent of my favorite television show The Office.  I guess it's the awkward humor and quotability that I enjoy.

I have heard from many sources now that Holmes & Watson was not a good movie.  Shame, I was hoping for a success.

Super excited about the album.  Haven't heard anything aside from that song yet.  Sounds like a Tool song.  May wait to listen to the full album upon release, may not be able to...

How about something like this?

It's not quite the same style, buuuut it could work!
Very nice!  Thanks for posting it!

It was used in the soundtrack of one of Argento's better films.
Thanks for posting!  All good tunes.  Enjoyed very much.  Hadn't heard St. Vincent's cover, but it's great.  Also hadn't heard Goblin, good stuff!

This was my last listen, stuck in my head lately.  Quite different from what's above, but I love it:

Anyway, here's a great song: Highwayman
Wasn't sure I'd like it at first, but it is a nice track.

This is what I was listening to before I clicked that link:

Jack just embedding the video from your comment. Yeah I love this track too! Jarvis Cocker's lyrics are also always very clever:
This is a great track.

I got a post deleted there for not having the correct opinion on something. Didn't swear, didn't attack any posters. The link I posted which had a lot of info on gamergate was quite unbiased. This is the problem. The opinion was not on the extreme left.

Snarky, you're a clown. Whoever put you in charge of anything screwed up bigtime.
This grinds my gears.

I was introduced to this some while back:

I really like this one.  Great song, great video.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the darkness.  I didn't have that issue.  It looked great, and the darkness was fitting for the story.  Then again, I watched it in complete darkness in the middle of the night.  The previous episode I watched in the daytime and it reminded me that I need to get more blackout curtains.

Great episode, though.  One of my favorites of the entire series.

Lots of great tracks listed in here.  Thanks for sharing!

As for me, I recently got a new vehicle, and now I have access to a functioning CD player while I drive.  I also have AUX capabilities, but I found some old CD books while moving and have been going through them.  They are mostly mixed CDs I made myself, but I've been revisiting a lot of old memories through them.  I recently listened to this track:

That song reminded me of another from a fantastic movie I watched recently, so I listened to that as well:

And that was how I went down a rabbit hole...

To be fair, the cinema isn't library. You're not trying to read a book. You've paid to watch a movie in the company of hundreds of other people. You might not necessarily talk to the people next to you but it's still very much a social experience. Sometimes (especially here in Japan) the silence during funny bits is even more gear-grinding. You need someone with a well-timed ‘oh snap' to break the tension and give the audience permission to react to the film in a way that the filmmaker almost certainly intended.

I'm not saying people should chat and eat loudly and bring young children into the room (I agree with Blondbraid in this) but for me the film is much more enjoyable when there is almost an element of interaction between the audience and the screen.

OK, I understand this point of view.  I see movies in a theater not because of social elements, but because of the experience of the theater seating, snacks, huge screen, and other things I can't get from a home experience.  Laughing at funny parts is expected, so it's not about having complete silence.  It's about courtesy to fellow movie-goers (much in the same way that Blondbraid was talking about not bringing small children).  If I lean over and say "Oh snap" to a friend, that's one thing, but shouting it out for the entire theater is a bit much and quite distracting for those of us that want a level of immersion from films.  In the same way, I went to a theater and had a man a few seats away from me looking at Facebook on his phone for the entire duration of the film.  The light from his phone was distracting to me and others in the area, and there are announcements telling you to turn off your phone before the film starts.  This is another courtesy to those around you.

I do understand, though, that you're basing your position on your current Japanese location and cultural factors.  I think I might enjoy watching a movie in Japan!
