Well I still have no clue what it is or even if I would understand it once I knew the secret.

I am not sure of the answer to either riddle but Mandle, JFK was not killed in a movie theater and doesn't explain why the other men could not see. Abraham Lincoln was killed in a theater but again does not explain why the other men cannot see. I tend to lean toward CaptainD's answer, but agree it doesn't explain the "what is going on" part.

Just to throw something out there based on the clue of it being a true story I am going to guess:
Erin Brockovich (sp?)

Yeah yeah. I have seen the movie hundreds of times(wifes favorite so if it is ever on we gotta watch it), but usually catch it somewhere in the middle or at least after it is 10 minutes into it. Forgot at the start of the movie that was what was going on.
