Helm's "Untitled Demo Game" can be found here. It's one room and ends with an error message when you exit, and it probably won't work on a newer computer. Looks good, though.

An ancient joke game called Dan finds his beard can be found here.

A kind of joke game of a different nature  :-[ can be found here: https://archive.org/details/kings-quest-for-orgy
It's very short and not the same as the real Quest for Orgy, which can be found here.

A couple of older games not in the database, but on the archive: Trapped with Hell: Cruisin' and Trapped with Hell.
Edit: I tried the two Trapped games only after posting the links, hence no comment then. These are made by a kid years back. There are threads ridiculing them about how bad they were, and indeed, they're not any good, and rely a bit on offensive language. But they're not difficult either, despite what's said in the old threads where people gang up to ridicule a kid's game (not one of the forum's finest hours), so for someone who wants to play through all the available AGS games, they are a five minute distraction each.  Not worth the time of others than completionists and people who find bad games amusing.

This is an experimental hybrid of several game genres. The player can't influence the story much, so the visual novel part mostly give you stuff to read. That said, it's written very well, and the world building is excellent, so I didn't mind.

In addition, there's a bagel construction simulator that's extremely well done, although that genre naturally has its limits. The voicing and effects on this part makes it quite cool.

And there is an additional element of what the character likes to do on their spare time. For now, it's gambling on a race. What it all adds up to, I'm not sure, but it feels like a well written casual game, made with AGS.

>Check ground for footprints or other signs of where Shoshana went.
>Hum the old Police song "Suzannah", which you always changed to "Shoshana" to tease your sister. You woild proceed to sing the entire song pronouncing every s like "sh", as if you had your mouth filled with food.

So...your first game ever...for sale on Steam! And from what it looks like, it's not a bad call either. Good graphics, fluid animation (I could run the video fine), a wacky story idea and a hook in the PR presentation that shows that you can probably write quite well. Marketing 101. I'm all in, baby. Wishlisting.

At the recent $106 Adventure Game Challenge game jam, there is an entry called Interdimensional Community Service. Funny short sort of investigative game.

This author's also made two more games not in the database: The Gardner's Heist and 12 Hours a Slave, which were entries in the $103 and $101 Adventure Game Challenge, subsequently. 12 Hours a Slave won!

Vampire Wombat has made a few MAGS entries that aren't in the database, probably because some of them are somewhat unfinished/in demo state. Nevertheless, at https://vampirewombat.itch.io/ you can find Ka and Da, Lygophilous, The Summoned, Mystery Meat Mayhem, Research Reservations, Goat Burn, Shamrock High: Graduation, Flukie, Captain Carver's Carnival Curios, Sweet Mythery, Vacant Bodies, Pizza Calls, Comet Collision and Dr. Muttonchop. (My favourites among these are probably Lygophilous, Research Reservations and Comet Collision.) The real way to play MAGS games is of course to read the old thread of the competition and play all the games with the same theme. At least I find that more rewarding than playing them out of context.

Return to Candle Cove is at https://archive.org/details/return-to-candle-cove This is a "not-serious" entry and default not-winner of a MAGS with the theme "Legend" back in 2012. (It's an animation/joke game. For completeists only.)

The Rumpus Room / Re: Name the Game

(laugh) I have no idea if that means I'm miles off the mark or not. But okay, I'll make up some more generic titles and see if one sticks.

The Sword of Truth!

The Shield of God!

The Knight of Heaven!

The Secret Agent of the Lord: Mysterious Ways - Wetworks III

Oh, it's a Christian game. I haven't played it, but don't they have titles like "Soldier of Light" or "Soldier of Faith"? Purely guessing here.

Turn lights back on, then exit car and inspect surroundings.

That's another great story from you. Congratulations!

Praise first. As always, the art is magnificent. I don't think I've ever mentioned the font you use, but it's a marvellous fit for the speech balloons, emphasizing that graphic novel feeling. The music chosen also is appropriate for a sci-fi feeling, and Eric Matyas' tunes sound professional while not stealing the spotlight.

The story and characters also work very well. There's both comedy and tragedy here, mixed together to create a story worth thinking about and discussing after playing the game. I liked the tailor and the cook best...given more time, perhaps even the guard could have played a bigger role?

Then there are the puzzles. I didn't have any difficulties, but still felt very satisfied while solving them. There's quite a lot to do, and the way you keep track of it, is also very nice and user friendly. It's hard to rank difficulty, but I'd guess it's about average - perhaps going on easy for experienced adventurers, like most of us are. It'll be fun to read how people outside the Blue Cup Community do.  :-D Favourite puzzle - getting the steering rod. (I laughed!)

Any gripes or suggestions for improvements I may make, are hardly fair, given that you made the game in 14 days for a jam.  (laugh) But if you decide to tinker more with it, I guess there are room for more animations (which I always love to see how you do) and "unnecessary" actions. I would have loved to see the pilot have a go at the  static training cycle, for instance. Some sentences (especially questions) have what I guess must be Italian sentence structure: "Why there are (...)" instead of "Why are there (...)", and some dialogue options may be removed after they have served their purpose. The tailor can still be asked about his hat after you have taken it.

Even so, I think the game is great and heartily recommend everyone to have a go at it. Play it through to the end to get the entire story!

Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Mon 26/09/2022 00:27:48Should I report new forum bugs here?

I noticed that spoilers do not work correctly, instead the "hide" tags are displayed verbatim.
Did syntax change or they are broken? If syntax changed, is there a way to convert the topics to the new one automatically?
AGA wrote in the thread AGS Website Redesign, which probably is a bit misleadingly placed in Adventure Related Talk and Chat.
Quote from: AGA on Sun 25/09/2022 22:18:23Spoiler tag is fixed.  I'll look at the other things when I can find the time!

Edit: Ah, now the
Spoiler
tag isn't working. Oh well.

Oh my! This looks really good! One can tell that you're an artist, and it looks like your comics experience pays off a great deal when it comes to how to make the scenes look nice. It will be interesting to see if you can make puzzles and interaction to match. I'll certainly play your proof-of-concept when you're ready. Best of luck with your production!

And welcome to us, by the way! This is a friendly place to be.

Most likely we don't know exactly what we're getting into and are here to let our sister tell us. I guess we will either be told or something has gone wrong and we'll be presented with problems as we go along.

The database has an entry called John Lost His Key Chapter 1 and 2, but now, only chapter one is available. Does anyone have chapter two? It's also known as "Johnny lost his key" (while chapter one has "John").

Edit: Got it from TMD. Thanks!

From a MAGS back in 2004 with the theme Outdoors:
Smiley's Quest 2 is at https://archive.org/details/smileys-quest-2
The Mushroom Man is at https://archive.org/details/the-mushroom-man

Beard Beverage is at http://www.mediafire.com/download/omxlvccckvy39dz/BeardGame.rar This is a short and cute game about a guy who wants a beard.
As far as I can see, The Marvellous Birthday of Princess Marian (or Princess Marian III) isn't in the database. But it's at https://archive.org/details/princess-marian-3 This series is very cute and charming.

>Stop at 'Ol Roger'o get a surprise for your sister. Check date on newspaper.

Oh, I guess we just went past it. Pity. Nevermind came out in 1991, so we can perhaps use this to further pinpoint when this is. The car and the cassette tape may be old, though.
