The "Superman is a horrible concept to write for" idea.
The idea that a protagonist that is morally upright and invincible can't have good stories. To me, that just smells of excuses for not being skilled at writing, and I thought pop-culture as a whole had moved beyond that argument, but I saw it recommended to me as a video again recently.

There are many good Superman stories, and many less good ones, too. The challenge seems to be that he's so powerful that he's not in any real danger. This can be solved by making even more powerful enemies, which is not a good solution in the long run, or by making stories that is about something else. I've been watching the new Superman & Lois tv series, and like what I see so far. The writers have emphasized parenthood, making moral choices and so on.

Hello everybody,
I'm Simone (I'm not English) and my first visit here dates back to... at least 2001, I guess...
I was in university and I made 12 short AGS adventure games for my friends.
So, are those 12 shorts available still?  :) Best of luck!

After seeing the award nominations, I feel I have to suggest an overlooked title for one of the upcoming months.

Suggestion:

Money Mansion

So you liked Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle? Want to play more with the heroes from those games? Sorry, this one is about the bad guys! In a wonderful mash-up of Disney's Uncle Scrooge and MM, try to get ahold of a million bucks to keep the Mansion. You play as Dr. Fred, Edna and Ed, who each have their own weaknesses and (lack of) abilities. Enjoy bizarre humour and solve challenging puzzles in your quest to take that money! Flirt with a statue! Beat the security system! Watch TV! Oh, just play the game, won’t you?

I second Laura's choice of The Cabin. Outstanding game!

With the awards coming up, I guess some of the games from yesteryear will get their deserved attention there. I'll certainly be happy to write a suggestion about picking Zniw, Off the Clock or Money Mansion if they by some off chance don't win anything.

The earlier of the two says it's a beta version.  We do sometimes end up with separate entries for a demo and its full game too.  I'll have a think about how to combine the two.

I cannot download from the earliest of the two and don't recall if I have been able to do so before. The second one is clearly also the beta - the file name is sq7mania2_betaversion.rar

[offtopic]I'm not too concerned about demos having their own entry. Frankly I just wondered if not more demos were eligible for nominations in the "Best demo" category. Those without separate entries seem to not be included in the list, and those with a demo as one of the downloading choices will be easy to overlook. Then again, I don't really know if a full release is supposed to cancel out the demo with regards to nominations. A commercial game with a polished demo could well release them simultaneously. It seems like Space Quest 7 Mania Episode 2 has two entries in the database:
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2446-sq7-mania-episode-2/    (Which gives me an error message about a forbidden site)
and
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2472-space-quest-7-mania-episode-2/   (Where the download link works fine)

Sophia McGrath and the Strange Invitation
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2455-sophia-mcgrath-and-the-strange-invitation/

The game has no download link, hence it is listed with 0 downloads. But the link to the game's homepage takes us to the itch page. It looks like these two have been mixed up.

It grinds my gears that I keep seeing the same Cyberpunk 2077 ad everywhere.
(if you've missed it, see it at your own risk)
Caption for the ad: "The hairdresser deserves this!" (laugh)

And here I had prepared another slew of pics without the dogs in them... :-D Paw Patrol it is.

Am I the only one watching these shows with my kids and thinking "But how can this work?" And I'm not thinking of the talking dogs, or whatever, but of how expensive it all must be to build and maintain. Postman Pat uses a helicopter to deliver some balloons...  (laugh)

Cassiebsg, you're up.

Nope. No satire whatsoever in this one. Just what my son watches.

If you're planning to keep those links open, it would be great if you posted them here. Then AGA will update the links in the database.

Could be Hannibal, if that was the name of the show. The one with Hannibal Lecter. ???

Not sure whom to address this, there's a game called "Hit The Freak" which download is not available in the database anymore, but I have a download link attached by user to a bug report a while ago: https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/files/3955030/git.tar.gz
(Don't know how long this link will be available, it's hosted by github now and is automatically named archive containing another archive...)
