Funny you should mention it. My wife started watching Katla just today (first handful of episodes). I caught 20 minutes with her at lunch. Not enough to make any kind of judgement, but even the 20 minutes I saw fits your description exactly lol. More than one scene in some poorly lit room where vague questions meet vaguer answers.

Have been introducing my son to some old SNES and N64 titles on Saturdays (trying to keep video game time in check, so just one day a week ). We were playing Super Ghouls and Ghosts and both commented on the cool track in the ice level. I think it's actually 5/4 time - I've always loved riding the extra beat in that signature. Track is 'Ice Forest' and starts at 15:27 if it doesn't play from the right place (I can never get the time stamp to link properly):

Perhaps the game that killed SNK? Must not have been very popular, so I'll just throw in the towel.

The game is called Dexterity. Quirky, but the mechanics of the game were solid and offered a lot of variation that kept each round fresh. Here's a playthrough:
