Dear something,*

Firstly thank you all for what you have done and are doing. I have recently encountered a situation which may call for your specialist services. I recently have discovered that on my personal computer games from TellTale Games seem to be leaking memory in much the same way that Niagra Falls leaks water.

I can't seem to figure out why this would be, and so I'm just seeking answers here. Any and all help you can provide would be much appreciated. My system specs and original reference for this question may be found here.

Thanks again,

monkey

*The subject clearly says, "Ask something". So that's what I'm doing. I'm asking something a question. Got a problem with that?

D'oh! I should've caught that...of course.

Okay, again the code looks fine. Now then, what is actually happening?

One thing here I can think of is that perhaps you're not calling DrawingSurface.Clear on your surfaces before trying to draw the rectangle? Because obviously if you keep drawing them on top of each other in the same color you wouldn't see the changes (unless it was increasing of course).

Other than that where are the variables being updated at? Are you certain the values are what you think they are?

Where are you calling this code? Is it in the same place as the first code?

If all else fails you could always use some breakpoints to make sure that the lines are being called and some Display-s to make sure that the variables are the values you expect (such as):

Code: ags
Display("Aaron's stamina: %d", Aaron_stamina);

Your code looks fine, what does the code for the other character's meters look like?

By the way, you can use
and
to encapsulate your code like this:

Code: ags
a_hp.DrawRectangle(0, 0, ((Aaron_health/Aaron_health_max)*80)-1, 4);

Makes it a bit more readable here in the forums, and prevents any issues with formatting (such as 8 followed by a parenthesis resulting in 8)). ;)

Welcome to the forums as well.

I'll just leave this here.

Empty Game 2 Template

Looking for a template you can use to "test out an idea" or do something cool without all the fluff of the Default Game template getting in your way; but the Empty Game template not compiling without some work getting on your nerves? Or perhaps you find that even the Empty Game template's global script seems a bit cluttered and bogged down...

The Empty Game 2 Template contains very limited resources to help alleviate your pains! I've taken the liberty of cleaning up the global script, removing unnecessary views, dialogs, etc. leaving you with an "almost" empty game. I've left Roger in just as a point of reference along with the default walk cursor. Throw in the empty room of darkness and you've got a functioning empty game!

NOTE: I actually created this with AGS 3.2 BETA 4 so it's unlikely to work with any prior versions! Oops! If I get around to it I wouldn't be against trying to grab an earlier version of AGS (perhaps even back to 2.72) to recreate the template in that version.

Anyway, enjoy!

It's referring to "Gon Zo Young" by Amber Pacific, right?

I recently attended my first, and probably last (definitely last I let someone else drive me to) comic book convention (comicon (at least that's what I call it)). And I as long as I avoided doing it, I simply couldn't not take my picture with this guy. I'll dedicate it to DC, and you'll see why:

I also met John Redcorn (Jonathan Joss) from King of the Hill.

Both of these pictures were taken after about 6 hours of being bored out of my skull. And I didn't care so much about Redcorn; I took the picture with him more for a friend who said it was "cool" that he was there.

Also, yes both of these are life-size (Dr. Who and John Redcorn :P) in case you were wondering why they're so short, I'm just tall like that.

So the truth comes out. Babz was solely responsible for 9/11. By himself.

Spoiler
Actually we all know it was really the U.S. government but...who's to say Babz isn't secretly just W. with a beard?

Actually, the resemblance is uncanny:

True, not every day you see Babz getting ear-humped by a minielephant. 8)

Ghost to be perfectly honest until attention was brought to it, I thought it was some type of tattoo. Anyway, have you ever tried using "Well I had to save this building from a ferocious burning kitten..."? It'd work on me. :P

I think that says it all.

The beam of course is the radio tower these so-called "deserted" island inhabitants use to call for supplies no doubt.

And I think it would be clear that the image was taken by the corpse of the pilot who crashed the plane into this island "stranding" him there...charred bodies are perfect camera stands. ;)

I love the way everyone keeps quoting that image. :D

The other picture I took the next day at work was actually even better.

Makeout...you cannot possibly be serious...? Of course your beer was already glowing profusely.
