You can also dowload the SCI Companion and use that to rip all the assets from a Sierra SCI game which can be a useful tool for seeing how a game uses its assets.  It will export a sprite sheet which you could then edit.  Getting familiar with aseprite and how it works is probably also a worthwhile task for creating your own art assets as well.  Just importing a sprite sheet is a little tricky but once you figure out how to do it it's very, very useful.

Thanks for taking the time to write a bit about your process as I'm always curious about such things.

Those candles are an absolute fire hazard!  Seriously, though, looks great.  Good luck with production!

Ah, excellent.  Following the development has ben quite exciting so obviously I wish-listed it as well.  Good luck finishing up! That's the hardest part after all of the other hardest parts.

Oh, hey, thanks!  And, yes, I agree this looks great.  I really dig the nightlife neon vibe.

I don't know if this counts as a necropost but I do have a suggestion I wish I had known earlier:

When you import a gif it imports all the frames as individual sprites.  You don't need to cut out the spritesheet in that case.

I just joined Twitter last night for Kola Queen and almost immediately got a much greater than expected reception.  I did share probably the coolest piece of art that I have ready to go, though.  I think Laura Hunt's advice is very good.  Just engage with people with the vibe you want and they'll do the same for you.  Like anything else, it's probably better to do five minutes a day on Twitter (or whatever) than four hours all at once at the last minute.

That's amazing!  I just passed the 1,000 mark so imagining ten times that number is astonishing to me as I can't imagine what that feels like since a thousand was a lot of work!  Really looking forward to this.

I was just thinking about this game the other day so it's great to hear that progress is being made.  Keep up the good work!  I really dig the new screenshot.
