*Sigh* I was really hoping they wouldn't be taken that quickly...

One pace to the North.
Two paces to the East.
Two paces to the South.
Two paces to the West.
One pace to the North.

I'm somewhat wondering if everyone has the game already...  Oh well, here's a few of them:

1. Four legs in front, two behind.
Its steely armor scratched and
Dented by rocks and sticks
Still it toils as it helps feed
The hungry.

2. Though not a plant, has leaves.
Though not a beast, has spine.
Though many wouldn't need this thing,
'Tis more valuable than wine.

3. The chill of its death,
You may soon mourn.
But though it dies,
It cannot be born.

A book?  Not sure about the other ones, yet.

Okay, the two answers I got are correct.  That last one still has to be solved since a new one is brought up.

Snake

1. A Harrow of some sort? I thought disc harrow at first, but I don't think they have wheels. Tracker = the four legs in front and the harrow = the two legs in back. The hungry = the cows
Grim: "You're making me want to quit smoking... stop it!;)"
miguel: "I second Grim, stop this nonsense! I love my cigarettes!"

Renodox

CLOSE!  That's VERY CLOSE.  However, that's not QUITE the answer to the riddle...

That's a horse, the man and the plow, I guess :)

Renodox

Very good.  Okay, three more:

1. The light one breaks but never falls.
His brother falls but never breaks.

2. You see it about in field and town,
It cannot get up, but will oft fall down.

3. Though easy to spot, when allowed to plume
It is hard to see, when held in a room.

Andail

Spoiler

1. Day/night
2. The rain?

Haggis

3 = Smoke. In a home the fireplace / chimney would conceal it... unless it's raging out of control.

Renodox

Okay, let me know when you get tired of these.

1. Be you ever so quick, with vision keen,
By your eyes, we are never seen.
Unless perchance, it should come to pass,
You see our reflection in a looking glass.

2. A precious gift, this, yet it has no end or beginning,
    And in the middle nothing.

3. Silently he stalks me, running as I run,
Creeping as I creep, dressed in black
He disappears at night, only to return with the sun.

Crimson Wizard

These three were too simple :)
Spoiler

1. Ears
2. The ring.
3. Shadow.

Simple they were but you got one wrong.  The first one.  (Though your answer may technically be right, this is going off of the answers in the game).

What an interesting rule. Meaning, if the riddle is composed so that it may have 100 possible answers, the correct one is still the one... that was chosen in some game?

mkennedy

As I recall many of these riddles are from "Betrayal at Krondor"

Here's one I made up that gives a new twist to a rather well known riddle

What has 4 legs for breakfast, two legs for lunch, and 3 legs for dinner?

A housebot with detachable limbs?

HA HA!  That's a good one!  Yes, it is odd but it was what I figured was needed.

The actual answer was "Eyes."  However, yes they are from Betrayal at Krondor and those are the answers I'm looking for.  Since we seem to have a pretty worthy riddle up, I'll leave off for now.

I remember very similar riddle, that was like "Who walks on 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in midday and 3 legs in the evening". The answer was: a man, who crawls on four as a baby, walks on two as a grown up and uses stick for extra support in the older ages.
But at this time, it might be just a guy who loves eating chicken legs or something.
