Ok, here's the solution :

The series is called " Au delÃ les murs" (Behind the walls).
It was shown on ARTE TV, my favourite TV channel WITHOUT commercials :-)

I loved it, just judge for yourself.
Found a link to all three episodes, maybe there are better links than these, but better than nothing.

Ah, I remember finding these when I was looking for it, but unfortunately the subtitles are in Greek and my French is not exactly amazing either, so I had to find it somewhere else

Yes, I liked it a lot. It's a Swedish series that starts out like a crime show, then takes turns towards the supernatural. Recommended if that description doesn't put you off.
