A solid remake of the original that tries to improve on its predecessor in nearly every way, often succeeding. At the time of this rating, the high combat difficulty (even after it is adjusted) may turn away some more puzzle-oriented players, but those who can deal with it will find an enjoyable remake here!
March 2009
Quest for Glory II VGA is a remake of Sierra's classic title with more pixels and more colours. There's been an amazing amount of work put into this by the same team who remade the first two King's Quest games. QFG2VGA won an award at this year's AGS Awards, but also won the blog poll for game that should really have had more…
We'd love to hear what you think about the game!

I must admit that I have tried playing this game twice before and just gave up due to not knowing what to do. The very first step of finding the money-changer is one of the hardest in the game and I think most players probably give up right there at the start. That's why I'm so glad I didn't give up on my third attempt!
This game is AMAZING once you get into it and start learning the lay-out and culture of the city. It begins to feel like you are in a real place living your character's life rather than playing an adventure game. You can get so distracted just taking in all the sights and activities the city has to offer that when the story events start happening they almost seem like intrusions sometimes...Like :"An Elemental is doing what, where?! I don't care!!! Leave me alone! I gotta go pick up my new shoes today!!!"
It is very much though a game for go-getter gamers. The game is not going to lead you through the story: The player must actively seek out the story to get on board with it:
(Or you can just go shoe shopping or many other little sidequests and easter egg hunts along the way...)
I would easily rank this game as high as Heroine's Quest even though it ranks much lower on the AGS Awards win list for some reason...I'm guessing some blockbuster came out the same year and won everything?
This is simply a brilliant remake.Absolutely fantastic.
A long time waited remake game. All men and women behind this game should be proud of their team work for bringing this gold classic game alive again.
Super - fantasy - game.
Awesome game! i never played sierra games and thought that rpg and graphic adventure didn't went together! But i still prefer lucasarts ...
A nearly flawless remake of a classic. The strengths of the original game are emphasized, and the weaknesses are eliminated. This game should not be missed by any fan of Sierra-style games.
