About

My name is Thalia James. For two decades, I've been a member of the Earth Anti-Encroachment League, an organization dedicated to preventing unlawful exploitation of planetary systems. It's a pretty unexciting job, and up until recently, I was convinced that it would always remain that way for me...but I was wrong. After a brief visit to a distant planet, my life changed in a way I never could have anticipated. Now, for the first time in years, I'm finding myself yearning for the mundane.

That was one of the summaries of the adventure game I was going to star in...before it was cancelled in the late '90s. But if you think that game characters simply curl up and die after their games get cancelled, you'd better think again.

Adventure: The Inside Job shows you a side of the genre that has only been glimpsed in the past. Journey with Thalia through a variety of locations both familiar and foreign, meet unusual people and creatures that you just might have encountered before, and discover what goes on behind the scenes of adventures games...

AGS Panel Rating

An interesting look at the virtual world inside old adventure games, Adventure: The Inside Job is rather light on gameplay and has a tendency of preaching to the choir about the decline of the genre, but overall it's a fun adventure in its own right.

I just played through this for the second time, and I love it. Not only is it a fun concept, but it also makes me appreciate the adventure genre even more.

I can recommend this any day. :)

I enjoyed this game more than I expected as I am not a great fan of the older low res games and the rather clumsy Sierra style interface. It's the idea that makes this game and the neat way it is executed. I liked the main the character, Thalia (a sassy and capable female lead. nice!) and the different game styles were used to good effect. I wish it had been a little longer.

What a thoroughly wonderful adventure. It successfully takes us on a tour down nostalgia lane, whilst keeping the player interested and involved and tying together a plethora of retro adventure game scenarios.

One of the most memorable AGS games I've played in quite some time. I can only hope there will be more stories to tell for Thalia James in the future. Thank you for making this, it was deeply appriciated.

Ah, this game opened up something deep inside me. So many memories from past games, but all are memories from long ago.

Am I wrong in thinking attention spans have been reduced in latter generations that the adventure game has suffered as a result.

Either way I loved playing this game. I found it very moving.
