AGS Panel Rating

With colourful graphics, and an interesting game world, there's much to like about NecroQuest. Unfortunately, with gameplay that lacks direction, some clumsy writing, and uneven execution, it falls just short of the finish line. A good effort, and one that shows lots of potential.

The game was fun to play, nice graphics and voice acting really added a lot to it. I especially liked the succubus, and I see the author is even making figurines of her, I may be getting one soon...

I like this game. It had the feeling of a old adventure game. I only wish that you could skip the into the second time you watched it but it was good anyway.

I really enjoyed NecroQuest (only played the deluxe version). The locations are atmospheric, the voices well realized, the cutscenes stylish, and the characters fun (especially the succubus).

The only problems I had:

1)The second instruction for properly releasing the succubus didn't make any sense to me even after reading the solution.

2) I think the 2 occasions (the poster and the gun) where you have to do a certain action in another location first for the hero to actually want to use or pick an item in another location are annoying.

3) To be honest I didn't have the patience to carefully follow all of the emails and the Orc's stories about the politics. I'm not saying they were an annoyance, but if there were any puzzle hints hidden in those dense information bits, they were lost on me.

As I commented in the original version, this is a very good game for a first effort. The voice acting really adds to the depth of the game in the deluxe version, and the extra animations reward the player more. It was also nice to see (most of) the spelling and grammar issues cleaned up. Good job, Yarooze!

Game is brilliant, Beautiful BGs, good voice acting (specially Orc's 'Hallo'), sound effects are just right where they are needed. Game take place in a fatasy world, story seems to have lots of potential, my only complaint is that it seems short.
