About

You are Montmorency Greye, a private investigator, gun-toter and name-taker. One fateful night you are sent to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances in an isolated whaling town. Before long you're fighting for your life.

This is a shooting game featuring a variety of exciting and challenging puzzles, such as "How much lead must I pump into this shambling monstrosity before it dies," and "Oh crap what is that in the dark behind me?!" If you like shooting at things until they fall over, this is the game for you!

Awards & Reviews

AGS Panel Rating

The game shows a lot of potential as an action-adventure hybrid but the random and unbalanced combat and difficulty (especially the frustrating nature of the bats near the end) hold it back. For those of you who crave challenge and frustration, you'll find plenty of both in Shades of Greye.

Fun and atmospheric, but difficult. Good work on creating this sort of game with AGS and in 1 month of time.

However, I gave up in the cemetery. The story wasn't interesting enough to keep me trying after several failures and there didn't seem to be any puzzles on the horizon either.

I'd love to see this mixed with adventure style gameplay to create something more akin to Alone in The Dark.

Action game, atmospheric and with a great deal of lovercraftesque critter. Give it a try, you will be surprised (and remember to save often)!

Unfortunately, I was stuck at the final battle on the hardest difficulty setting : not enough HP to go through wthout using bullet, but if I used bullets, I hadn't enough left for the boss...
That was quite frustrating, there should have been a way to avoid those ceiling-crawlers.
