A very entertaining p&c adventure with lots of retro-feeling, humor, interesting characters and nice puzzles.
I just would like the dialogs to be skippable (when realizing that there is the same long dialog again) like mentioned before.
Overall it is to be seen that a lot of effort has been put into this very nice game successfully and I really can recommend you to play it. I had a lot of fun doing so - let's talk to the sock! ^-^
I enjoyed this one very much. As everyone else already wrote - it's full of Sierra and Lucas Arts nostalgia. The graphics fit the setting perfectly and there's quite a lot of animation going on here.
But it's not only the presentation - it also fun as hell.
Try it, even if you're not a soccer fan.
This is a neat game with excellent graphical retro fidelity, the animations being the weakest part but still very nice. I also liked the overall idea and characters in the game.
I did not like the pacing (as people have said, the dialogs drag on and on and on, too much text and way too many character.Say(...) pauses as well, almost between every line of dialog). This makes the game take much longer to play than it should and can be really frustrating. I wasn't very keen on a lot of the puzzles either, as they seemed fairly far-fetched and absurd. There's a couple more no-nos: one or two pixel hunts, some unclear exits (some you have to use, others you can just walk near to), interactions being locked off until you do a specific thing and, probably the most important, a lot of repeatedly inspecting objects to trigger actions.
It's still a decent game, as I said, I'm just trying to point out the things that stood out to me in a negative way so you can try and work on these aspects for the next installment!
A fantastic game that channels the spirit of the early 90's adventure gaming. References and cameos all over the place to classic games, movies and tv shows. Great story and locations, perfect pacing and game length, I can only highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this game. The whole game shows a lot of effort, in puzzle diversity, in pacing, in animations, in music, in characters, and especially in humour. I laughed out loud quite some times, and chuckled even more often. Looking forward to the sequel!
One minor thing: While funny, the dialogues were often pretty long, with many pauses, especially when you look a second time at an object, it is a bit annoying when you have to click the text away and have to wait through all the small pauses. Still, this doesn't take much from the overall enjoyment. Well done, a well-chosen Pick of the Month, and all hopefully upcoming AGS Awards will be well-deserved!
