For me, I took a bit of a leap of faith paying the £20-ish amount for this game, but it turned out to be a leap well worth taking.
This felt like a very polished and comprehensive work, worthy of matching other adventure games on the market in yonder times. We have amazing voice-overs, animated characters, death scenes, very nice weighted-puzzles, various endings, literally dozens upon dozens of rooms to explore, and enough content to entertain for days on end, unless your a real trooper-holic, personally I think it'd be a struggle to finish in one day.
So I'd say money well spent, and what I love about an adventure game is when you can try giving an object to a character, and receive a different response for each item in your inventory.
I love how games like this are still being developed into this decade, and if you hadn't guessed I am recommending this one
Fantastic game. Great puzzles, charming visuals, and a superb story that really draws you in. Challenging but fair - if I ever needed a hint it was more of an "oh, I should have thought of that" reaction than anything. It perfectly captures everything about the great adventure games of the 90s and what made them so great, while also allowing you to play in "Modern mode" which takes away some of the little annoyances games of that era were often guilty of.
Absolutely superb.
This is a masterpiece! Probably one of the best AGS games ever released. Great graphics, animations, music, sound effects combined with a thrilling story, well-balanced puzzles and an overall perfect retro-feeling. It's like playing the lovechild of LucasArts and Sierra from the 90s! I really recommend it to everyone who has a heart for adventure games.
