Spoiler
I was actually very lucky. After the first two, MINOR and SPOIL, I spent ages trying to come up with something plausible out of the remaining possibilities. AKIDO? Misspelled. COIFF? Same. HOITY? Not a valid Wordle word (I've tried it before). VOIDY? Not quite a dictionary word (but I think Lovecraft or someone uses it). NOICE? Unlikely. OUCHI? No.

The only real word I could come up with that fit was OXIDE, but I didn't believe in it as a Wordle answer. However, eventually I just went with it out of frustration, and lo and behold…

And then Wordlebot points out that I somehow overlooked VOICE. If I had found that I would definitely have guessed it.

With today's game, my average is officially below 4.0!

cat

I got 305 and 307 both with 3.

306 was a very nice word. It took me 5 guesses. It was one of those cases where you can't come up with a reasonable word for quite some time and think it must be a very obscure solution, only to realize that it is quite a common word but with an uncommon letter or letter combination.

Thanks to CaptainD I started to play Quordle from time to time. There, they have really obscure words. Luckily, once the puzzle is done (won or lost), all 4 words are linked to a dictionary so you can look them up and learn something. I like this a lot.

CaptainD

Got #307 in 2 for some reason.

I really like Quordle, I usually get all 4 words nowadays but sometimes it manages to defeat me. I can't imagine how difficult it would be when English isn't even your first language so I really admire anyone who does that!

Mouth for war

mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer

Snarky

Those are some pretty crazy stats, Mouth. I mean, the chance of guessing it on the first word is less than 1/2000. Getting it twice in only 37 games is a massive coincidence.

I didn't play well yesterday and got 5/6. Today I think I played close to perfect, but got unlucky:

CATER, WRITE, MERIT, INERT

After the first two guesses I had it down to MERIT, REMIT or INERT as plausibly valid solutions, with REFIT, RESIT, RELIT, and TIERS as dubiously valid ones (as it turns out, REFIT is on Wordle's list), and rejecting EFRIT as a non-standard spelling of ifrit/efreet. To ensure a win in four (unless it was one of the questionable ones) I had to pick MERIT or REMIT on 3. Unfortunately that was not it.

Mouth for war

oh sorry those 1 time guesses was because I first tried it on my phone and later in the evening I thought my phone and comp were synced so I couldn't do them again, but obviously I could so those shouldn't count (Yeah I'm an honest guy) :D

Bad luck today, got it on 3rd but could have on 2nd.

Spoiler
After STARE I figured it might be ASHEN or ASKEW and picked the wrong one.

Stupot

I’ve not played brilliantly since my last post but I did manage to get “heist” in 2 shots.

When I get a chance I need to work out my overall average, combining my pre- and post-cache-reset scores.

Well done for getting below 4, Snarky.

cat

I got on 3rd try today, even though the word was rubbish  ;)
Yesterday it took me 6 guesses, because I didn't know the word  :-\

I've been playing a 4 average recently, with the 3s and 5s canceling out.

Spoiler
I had bad luck guessing between FAIRY/DAIRY/HAIRY and ended up with a 5 there. I was also annoyed that Wordlebot pulled down my score (after a literally perfect game up to that point, with 99/100 Skill on each of the previous turns) for guessing LARCH over LARVA, because LARCH doesn't happen to be one of the Wordle solutions. Well, sorr-ee! On the other hand, I did really need to spend an extra turn on FORGO even though it was the only remaining possibility just because I couldn't come up with it, so that wasn't so good.

Same as Snarky, mostly 4 recently with the occasional 3 or 5.

Today I messed up again, because too many options. I didn't know that

I also blew it! I wasn't thinking about that as a word at all. I guess it's in order to shout D'OH XD

#99
Today I got a double Wordle! After solving it on my computer I usually retype my guesses into my phone to share with some others over SMS. But today the puzzle was different on each. On my computer I had:

Wordle 324 3/6

⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩
⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Spoiler
CHIDE, WRONG (to decide between WHILE, SHIRE and SHINE, with THINE and SHITE as other valid words unlikely to be Wordle answers; though as long as I hadn't overlooked anything it would have been better to just guess one of the answers, since it would reveal the right alternative anyway), SHINE

But on my phone I got:

Wordle 324 3/6

⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨
🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Spoiler
CHIDE, TEARS, FETUS

I think it's pretty clear that this was the original puzzle, and that NYT changed it given recent news, since it might be seen as sensitive/controversial.
